As a starter, we ordered the Mekong Pulled Duck Spring Rolls, which wasn’t as nice as I thought it would be – I couldn’t taste the flavour of the pulled duck inside the spring roll and the dipping sauce tasted rather ordinary. However, I did like that they included a cute little instruction card on how to wrap the spring rolls in the lettuce leaf with the fresh herbs and pickles.

For the main dish, I ordered the Bun Bo Meaty Salad Bowl with Spiced Chilli Beef. This came as a huge bowl with vermicelli noodles, loads of fresh greens, pickles, crushed peanuts, and the spiced beef.

I loved how much vegetables there were in the bowl and the variety it had. There were so many textures and flavours going on in the bowl, which made each bite interesting! However, the spiced beef wasn’t flavourful enough nor was it spicy. The only hint of spiciness came from the fresh red chillies included in the salad bowl and even then, some weren’t spicy at all. As for the sauce, it tasted the same as the dipping sauce from the starter we had so it wasn’t very nice in my opinion.

For my drink, I went for a Mai Tai to keep with the Asian theme of our dinner. This was a simple blend of pineapple juice with alcohol and it wasn’t too sweet, which I liked. It was also served in a well-sized glass. Often, cocktails come in too large a glass for my liking and it makes me feel quite bloated drinking so much liquid alongside my meal. But this portion size was perfect to have with my meal but also to have as a drink on its own.

My mother ordered the Tamarind Crispy Fish with Thai Basil Glaze, which I thought was excellent! This was my favourite dish that I tasted this evening because the glaze was very flavourful. The sweetness from the tamarind complemented well with the salty crushed peanuts sprinkled over and it had a lovely texture against the fish. I liked that it wasn’t battered too much so the proportion of fish to batter was perfect.

This was an Indo-fusion canteen style restaurant really close to Bayswater / Queensway. I think the menu was extensive - which meant we were almost overwhelmed for choice. I think the food was good, but I've definitely had better. The Rendang was lacking in spice and flavour, but the portions were really really generous. The staff were great, friendly and attentive and we left feeling overstuffed. We took advantage of the lunch deal which meant certain dishes were considerably cheaper - but we found the better dishes had supplements (which didn't make them much cheaper).

This seems to be the only branch that serves totally halal everything - I did email them via their website to ask about the other branches but was full blown ignored, shame really, they lost a star in that process.

I had their veggie duck the first time I ever came - "the hell is that?" You ask? Well, it's not meat but it tastes like meat so vegetarian friendly too and man does it taste goooooooood!

I don't think I've ever had a bad experience here which keeps me coming back. Nice mocktails (Lychee! Woop woop!), cool atmosphere, quirky low lighting as if you're in the East and simply great service (in the branch that is).

One of my favourite places to eat! The food is wonderful and the atmosphere is vibrant and fun. Its a great place to take the family or friends. The staff are always very helpful and offered great service. The food is halal and great value.
