Bar Tozino is a unique place at Lassco Ropewalks Bermondsey: The Jamón are hanging at the ceiling, the delicious tapas, the friendly Spanish staff and the fantastic wine list make all of this my favourite hangout in London.

This is a firm favorite of mine in the area. They are always very welcoming and helpful. And it always transports me out of London!

I had my work leaving drinks at Bar Tozino. There were 13 of us. I'd been here before so I knew it was small and cosy, but I also knew if the weather held out we could sit outside in the street. Luckily for the rest of the bar's customers the weather held out.

The friendly staff were more than accommodating, they forgave our drunken and at times brash behaviour. We made our way through a number of £25 bottles of Cava. Ordered one of everything from the tapas menu and enjoyed it immensely. I even had my own personal wine tasting as the barlady helped me pick a red that would match my palette.

This is a great place hidden away down Maltby Street. It's size means they don't take reservations, so it's first come first served. It's also very well suited for date nights, just make sure there isn't a leaving party taking place on the same night!

Oh, and if you time it right, you can get views of The Shard that look like this...

Always wanted to visit this place when passing by the market, and finally made it today. The atmosphere made me remember my visits to Barcelona, unfortunately, minus the mouthwatering tapas and cheap cava. At Tozino, you will get some decent charcuterie at prices starting from £10 for a sharing platter, paying the same amount for two 125ml glasses of bubbly. Yes, both will be good, and yes, it is the middle of the oh-so-fancy Ropewalk market - you do leave thinking you need to find a cheaper place to continue though!
