A speakeasy themed cocktail bar in Sloane Avenue that's hidden behind an inconspicuous black door. Inside the venue is decorated like a quirky living room cum bar, with trinkets scattered around, mismatched furniture and a helping of taxidermy. The bar staff are dressed accordingly to suit the prohibition era soundtrack and there's a fancy dress box to help visitors fit in.

Barts is a speakeasy located in Chelsea. Finding it is a challenge (that's the whole point!) but once you enter it's an exciting venue. There's a box full of props like Mexican hats. The wallpaper is bright and ornate. There's a great selection of music to dance to, but chatting to friends is a challenge considering how loud it is! Great cocktails. My favourite is the people watching in this's always entertaining!

This is a speakeasy as authentic as they come. The drinks are amazing and the service is great. I love the atmosphere in the place and the decor really takes you back in time. They also do amazing events and I was there for the Hodinkee secret cocktail party. The sliding eye slot on the door and the red light when you try to buzz really add to the whole experience. Definitely well worth popping in.... if you can find it....

Me and a few friends come to Barts for a friends birthday, this is my friends favourite bar and I can see why! The cocktails were fab the Charleston Crumble was amazing and the bar itself is very cool and quirky! Its extremely secretive which makes it more fun. The staff really make the place as well as they really get into it character! This place is great!

This place is quite hard to find and has a real speakeasy feel to it. I enjoy as it is very small and laid back. Had a really good new years eve here last year which was all you can drink, and when they said all you can drink they meant it! The next day I wish I did not take that on as a challenge but we live and learn.

Please note it is very small, but they do not care if you get drunken silly, and with a box of things to dress up I think they relish in it.

The cocktails as really nice and on Thursday, Friday and Sat night it can get very raucous. During the weekdays it is really nice for a cozy quiet drink.

This place is cool - the only speakeasy in the Chelsea area, this one is very well executed, hidden in the basement of an apartment block with amazing cocktails.

If you are looking for a quirky, cosy and brilliant place to go out with your friends, then Barts definitely is where you need to go. This 1920s prohibition era themed speakeasy is wonderful! The music and cool staff complement the atmosphere perfectly. The vintage fancy dress items you can wear and the unusually-shaped cocktail glasses also bring a lot of fun to the experience. The place was newly refurbished and I have to say that it looks amazing, especially the new wallpaper and the cool menus in books! The new cocktails are also awesome – they have this crazy Chinese Lantern style one that arrived at our table actually smoking and in a giant lantern! As a French girl freshly arrived in the capital, I am glad I discovered Barts and I wish there were more places like this back home, it's brilliant!
