Baskervilles Tea Shop

Looking out over Broomfield Park, Baskervilles Tea Shop is one of the few cafés in Palmers Green that provides a child-friendly spot for locals to natter over pots of tea. It’s pleasantly decked out with cosy reclaimed furniture, dressers stocked with cute homewares for sale, and thoughtful additions such as crayons to keep kids occupied.

The savoury options – soup, daily salads, sandwiches – show an emphasis on quality; our sandwich was small, but made with good roasted beef and Tewkesbury mustard. The cake selection is plentiful, ranging from decadent pecan and toffee cupcakes to a couple of virtuous gluten-free bakes. The coffee and walnut variety we tried was a little dry, but had a lip-smacking buttercream frosting.

In a nice touch, tea blends (created by tea specialist Blends for Friends) are available on the counter to sniff, and the lemon and ginger green tea was lovely. Baskervilles Tea Shop is the best new café in Palmers Green for a long time.

Having lived in the area for five years I have somehow managed to miss this place until now, which is a shame as it's a great little find! Looking over Broomfield Park the cafe is perfectly placed for a spot of tea after a stroll around the park. Friendly staff are on hand to welcome you into the cafe. Round the side and back of the cafe is more seating and a range of gifts and there's a lovely little garden tucked away at the back to enjoy on sunny days. There's a whole range of teas to choose from and the freshly made scones are baked to perfection! I will definitely be visiting again soon.

We had a lovely afternoon tea - the cake was delicious and it really makes a difference to get a refreshing cup of tea. Their range of teas is the best we have seen although we didn't try them all! Will have to go back.

A lovely tea room, quaint setting, quirky, pleasant and friendly staff, the tea was delicious although there was a ring stain in my tea cup, the cutlery that came with my sandwich had dried on debris, my ham and chutney sandwich was tasty but the bread was stale, I then tried some ginger loaf for desert which was a little on the dry side. The cakes are out on display at the front of the shop which looks great but are absorbing air which is drying them out (see through) lids would be useful. Again had been eager to try but did not come up to scratch. Baskervilles you have great potential, take your constructive customer reviews on board and we will return :)

Went for breakfast, mushrooms on toast and a cappucino. Big mistake. Mushrooms did not taste good and were so wet they soaked into the toast making it soggy. Toast i could barely cut with my blunt knife, really cheap blunt cutlery. So unappetising couldnt finish so left at side expecting waitress to takeaway. No suchluck. Nobody came to check if everything ok. Had to call grumpy unsmiling waitress over, asked for another cappucino and she completely ignored my plate and didnt ask why i hadnt eaten! Took the plate away when she brought the cappucino. Asked for toast and jam, toast as hard as a brick! Tried to ignore the tiny flying insects which kept landing on thr bowl of sugar. Uncovered cakes on display for all dirt and dust to settle on! Wont ever be going back. Very poor customer service and paid ridiculous price for what i got. Unbelievable.

Went there today and was disappointed. The cakes on the counter look lovely but aren't covered so are breathed on and liable to get dirty and dried out. Waitresses looked miserable, unprofessional and unappealing which was off-putting. I like kids but not when they're running around making a noise. I won't be going back.

Great place I love it.So much style & character. Love the cakes & different types of tea. Excellent views with Broomfeild park opposite. road.Very disappointed with the service & attitude from The waitresses.

I've never written a review/rating before but after attending this quaint tea shop with park views, full of so much character and charm and seriously the best cake I have had in any cake shop before (and I have been to a lot around the world too!) I just had to leave a 5* rating here to recommend everyone to go. Individual teas are also luxurious, and I got a cake platter (4 bits of variety of cakes) all of them were the best of each cake I've had. Thank you baskervilles for existing! It makes me proud to live in the same village :)

Definitely the best tea room for miles: a lovely range of homemade cakes so you're spoilt for choice and a great setting! Very cosy.

Baskervilles is a wonderful place to enjoy a relaxing cuppa and a slice of goodness. The counter, strewn with beautiful cakes and bakes never ceases to entice and the carrot cake, both varieties of which I've sampled, is truly heavenly. For me, and many I know, this is a gem of a teashop.

Great coffee but poor service.....waitresses too busy having their own lunch to bother with little ole me sitting in the corner. Maybe it was because I was only having a coffee but the waiter who brought it hardly cracked a smile. A shame as I'd been wanting to go in for ages but unfortunately it was a bit of a let down.
