The positive point for this place is their selection of Belgium beers, even though they are on the expensive side. Then on the negative side you have the bland food, the rude disinterested staff and the dingy venue. Within a 5 minute walk you could find many better places to eat, so I would recommend you keep walking.

I scooped a great Time Out daily deal for Belgo's in Bromley so thought I would give it a go. It's a little bit hidden away - you have to exit the Intu shopping entre up where Zara's/Boots is upstairs and find it that way but wasn't too hard. I went on a Friday night around 7.30pm and it was surprisingly quiet for a Belgium beer bar. There were a few families having a late dinner and a couple of groups at the bar having drinks but apart from that it was empty. I have pre-booked a table just to be safe, but you could probably wander up there and get a table easily. I opted to go for the classic Moules Marinere and was definitely not disappointed - it's some of the best mussels I have ever had. I washed it all down with their own brew of Pils and had a side of frites. Usually this would come to around £20, but with the time out deal it only cost me £10. I'll be keeping an eye out for deals in the future - this place is great!

I finished work early during the week and went straight to Belgo's for a late lunch. I had half a Leffe at the bar and chatted with a friend whilst I decided what to eat. As usual, the restaurant is fairly quiet at this time. I was struck by the moody, inattentive staff on duty; I've been to other Belgo's and this place is by far the worst. They weren't busy, but it was still difficult getting attention. I decided Belgo's wasn't getting any of my money for food and during my second drink an angry woman appeared at the bar; she'd asked to pay the bill for her party of three and they had simply been forgotten. Their waitress had been chatting away to a customer at the bar. I don't know what the food is like there, and I won't be in a hurry to find out.
