Benihana Piccadilly
Venue says We are a heritage Japanese restaurant specialised in teppanyaki style dining. Indulge yourself with our wagyu beef set menu.

Food is theatre at this Sackville Street teppanyaki restaurant - one of two Benihanas in London (there's another in Chelsea). Meals are played with and prepared on a teppan hot plate at each table, where chefs showcase knife skills, tricks and flicks as they compile a selection of pan-Asian dishes.

The menu ranges from appetisers and sushi to miso black cod, tuna grilled in teriyaki sauce, wagyu beef steak and the 'seafood palace' - a combination of lobster, black cod, salmon and scallops. Desserts include green tea ice cream, mango sorbet, ice cream tempura and cheesecake dumplings.

Keep an eye out for lunch offers, combination deals and bento boxes, too.

Worst restaurant i've ever been to in my life!! do not come here!! i came on Monday 9th may and the service was absolutely disgusting. I was told to shut up on my own birthday by the waitress. She was also very rude to my guests, we didn't even feel like eating there we just had to leave. we made a complaint to the manager and he refused to apologise to us, he even sided with the waitress. You would think customers should come first but not in this place! I would not recommend this place at all, especially if it is your birthday!! they will treat you like dirt. I will definitely put my experience in the newspaper so everyone can see what an awful place this is. Honestly this was an utter disgrace!!

My friend got us a groupon deal for the chicken and prawn dinner. For the set menu we had an onion soup (nice enough), followed by a small salad (bit pointless).  As I don't eat prawns I decided to also order the chicken gyoza (there are a few items you can add to your menu at a charge), which were yum.  We were probably sitting for about 30 mins at our table having these dishes before the chef came.  He started with some vegetables and prawns, followed by some beanspouts and prawns, finished with some chicken in teriyaki sauce with mushrooms.  He was super fun and gave us a good show for the first 10 mins, although by the end the energy died a bit and I was just desperate for my chicken.  The food was tasty but all basically cooked on the grill with soy sauce so there wasn't much to distinguish between dishes.  I had some really good lychee cocktails and they gave me a little chocolate cake for my birthday, along with a little song performance.

It was an enjoyable night and a good experience, all of the staff were especially nice.  However not sure I'd go back for the food at full prices - potentially in a big group would be worth it.

Delicious and entertaining, great for birthdays and celebrations - just don't wear your favourite suit as it's impossible to get the smell out afterwards!

Loved this place! very lively and chef throwing things to amaze us all! our chef Tom was the best of the night he kept us entertained. Next time I will go for my girl friend's birthday as it seems lots going on this place - apparently they sing Japanese song with a free cake & photo.

I adore this place. It's so different and fun. I've been a handful of times now with various people but always on the toptable deal of 6 courses for £29. Don't forget there is service charge added on top and drinks are quite pricey, so stick to soft drinks till after dinner if you don't want to visit the bank. You get a lot of food on this menu, all of which is delicious and entertaining at the same time (I doubt you can often say those two things together very often) The chefs are lovely and extremely talented, doing tricks at the table with the food and making everyone smile. You choose from a few options of fish or meats and get soup, rice, sushi etc also. They know what everyone wants as they write it down so it's all very organized. I wanted to leave a review in particular on this occasion because the last time I visited I was with my brothers girlfriend, who is wheat intolerant. I thought this may be a problem to them as they cook at a table you sit around and everyone has a bit of what the chef cooks, but no - They catered to this need beautifully and were so thoughtful with it too. Gluten free soy was used and a special batch of rice for her too - They really deserve some credit for that achievement alone and we all had a good time.... Thanks Benihana!
