Crusts meet coaction at this east London artisan bakery, which works as a social enterprise with the Hackney mental health charity, the Centre for Better Health, to provide trainee placements for adults recovering from mental health issues. The placements help people gain confidence and develop new skills they can use to go on to further education or future volunteer work and employment. But, that’s not all there is to love about the yeasty wonder. Their slow fermented sourdough loaves make for tasty sandwiches, and their cosy café is the perfect spot to gobble down pastries and locally made, ethically sourced Pact coffee. Plus, they serve pizza every Friday lunchtime.
