Bistro 1
It’s hard to find fault with this colourful, unpretentious restaurant a short hop from Covent Garden market. Tourists drift in and out, but there’s a great deal of hand-shaking and joking between affable staff members and a clutch of obvious regulars. Not even the dated interior can detract from the charm, the tables crammed together and the apricot walls replete with bizarre framed caricatures. The food is decent: a starter of feta salad came with generous slices of crumbly cheese and a delicious (albeit unadvertised) pesto dressing, while a perfectly grilled salmon fillet on a bed of creamed spinach was let down only by a congealing saffron sauce. Still, with two courses for £6.90 (three for £7.90), it hardly seems worth mentioning.

This review looks a bit old, they have new beautiful lights, its a really warm atmosphere with cool jazz music. the owner looks the same, a very jolly turkish gentlman but the food has gotton better; the lamb is tender and the staff seem to care more about the customers. i come here all the time fir lunch and sometimes driknk and eat in the evenings and im always happy :)

I wanted to compliment Bistro1 in Covent Garden on a delightful experience my partner and I had in their restaurant on 06/04/13. We are visiting London from the U.S., and found the restaurant while researching restaurants in the theatre district that are a good value, and well reviewed. We could not have been more pleased with our choice in dining with them! Their entire staff were so engaging, friendly, charming and kind in every conceivable way. Atay, the manager made us feel most welcome and extended every kindness in ensuring an amazing dining experience. And did I mention the food?! Just WOW!! We could hardly believe the value, and will truly never forget how delicious everything was, most especially the Banofee Pie that we chose to top off the meal. Rarely does one have such a sensational dining experience at such a great price. Bravo!!

I reserved a table for 3 but when we arrive we had to wait 20mins outside. Friendly environment but the food wasn't that great. The price is cheap but still i pay for food and i want to get something nice to eat. Calamari was nice but i don't recommend kebabs at all. Service wasn't great and we had to pay for the service charge. I don't think I'll every go back again.
