This French bistro has been serving Crouch Enders since 2002. It's owned and run by the chef, Lynne Sanders, who has been running it since its inception. There's a classic bistro look to the dining room, and the garden features a trompe-l'œil mural.
Dishes range from small plates of seared chicken livers with red wine sauce and garlic toasts to steak tartare, escargots, pan seared foie gras, duck leg confit and calves liver with devils on horseback, a red wine jus, onion marmalade and potato purée. Desserts include fresh fruit millefeuille, crème brulée and apple tarte-tatin flambéed with calvados.
The wine list is almost exclusively from small French producers, biodynamic and organic.

Reasonable food but let down by complacent waitress who was better than me. Wine was poorly disguised in a 10mm thick carafe trying to look like a bottle ( I admit they did say 450ml) but why pretend? Had to use a torch to read the menu; this is not Dans Le Noir!
Felt like we didn't matter and that they only wanted our cash. Otherwise excellent.
Great to have an authentic French bistro in the neighbourhood and opposite 2 cinemas! Great food, great atmosphere
Amazing variety, creative, warm and refined atmosphere coupled with a lovely simplicity...yes simplicity and elegance
I've been dining here for over a decade and have found the flavors and presentation to be consistently top notch. Wonderful refined atmosphere and friendly staff.
If you are looking to a place where you can always find nice food, friends and presence, go to Bistro Aix. Lynn and his wonderful staff will make sure to welcome you and you will want to come back next time!
Awsome dining experience! French trained chef Lynne Sanders does it again and again Great options to find a matching wine and attentive service.
First you enter, and find yourself in a privileged place. A bit cosy, but too much, just quiet, like a home. Then, waiters are both friendly and courteous. Then, you have to choose from the menu, and this is the tuff moment of your dinner or lunch. You think so, while whatever you choose, you will be delighted.
Roasted Beetroot, Pecan and Goats Cheese Salad is wonderful if you are raw food, Pan Seared Foie-gras, just paradise, Osso Bucco lasts delicately for ever on your palate. And the wine selection is high level, picked with so much taste. The prices? For this kind of Cuisine, really balanced. Enjoy and greet the Chef!
I love french cousine and romantic atmosphere of that restaurant : you can trust the high quality of food, the great selection of background classical music, exellent service and charming candel lights - all of that are always here to create special evening for you. My favorites dishes are: Foie gras, Venison, Rabbit and Ossobuco. And if you are the dessert addictive person, Bistro Aix is the Paradase for you.
Come and discover yourself.
As well as the great food I love the venue, the paintings on the walls and the classical music collection. Having a meal at Bistro Aix is a treat to all five senses a real celebration.
How do I love Bistro Aix? Let me count the ways.
The ambiance, the food, the service, the food (oh sorry, I am repeating myself).
We have been going for years and hope it won't be discovered by too many.
Every dish prepared well. No overburdening with seasoning. Meat and fish not overdone. Would like to return each trip to London.
Bistro Aix offers an unforgettable culinary experience, a journey through wonderful creations..and a so so welcoming, hospitable environment...Thank you Lynne!
Bistro Aix is perfection. The food is always tip-top, their selection of organic, biodynamic wines is just incredible, and you can tell how much the place means to everyone who works there. Not to be missed!
The food is always extraordinary, the ambiance is wonderful, the location is convenient, and the staff is great! What more?
Lovely restaurant with amazing cooking and a wonderful atmosphere. Been there many times and highly recommend it.
Lynne is passionate and caring about her business, the ingredients are always fresh and of the highest standard. Book your table with confidence, and have a great experience!
The staff are so welcoming. The food is consistently good and it is really like walking into a restaurant in France, but the staff are friendly. It is my favourite local restaurant we always go there for Birthdays and they are always so supportive to local events.
The food is great, the venue friendly. The ambiance is 'just right'. You can count on Bisto Aix for a quality evening whatever the occasion
Adore this restaurant - you could be in Provence.
My husband recently took me for a special birthday and the food was to-die-for, service impeccable and every detail thought-out. He'd even conspired with them for some 'little touches' which were perfectly executed, adding to our experience.
If you like authentic food in a warm, ambient but non-stuffy setting, this North London treasure will deliver on all counts. Go! But don't tell too many people, or it might lose its charm!
This restaurant serves up excellent quality French cuisine every time and the service is always attentive without being intrusive. A treat to visit; from a relaxed supper to a special occasion dinner.
The food is consistantly beautifully prepared with generous portions. There is traditional fare but there's also creative and novel combinations of flavours. The ambiance is cosy and intimate and the background music is present but not so loud as to make it impossible to talk or hear what's being said. The staff are knowledgeable about their menu, in both food and wine and they take great pride in what they serve.
Now in its 15th year. I was their first customer and even then they had raised the bar in Crouch End. Food is always first class and the wine selection is excellent.
You do excellent french cuisine - the frois grois is superb and the staff are accommodating , helpful and very friendly - customer service is second to non and the chef will always provide food of the highest quality
I have been visiting this restaurant for years, and it never fails to please. Superb French food from a very extensive menu at great prices, both a la carte and from the set menu. The wine list is excellent and chances to sample both food and wines occur at special events. Unobtrusive but attentive service from knowledgeable waiters.
