I will go as far as to say that Bokor is a hidden gem in Kilburn. Make no mistake: this isn’t a stellar wining and dining destination, but given how barren Kilburn High Road is in that respect, this is probably your best bet to eat well in a nice surrounding. Bokor feels a little more upmarket than the rest of the surrounding restaurants but still provides a marvellous for London value.
I used to come here every now and then back when it used to be knows as Betty Smith. I don’t know if it’s just the name or the owners that changed, but the place still retains the vibe. The atmosphere is pleasant, the place is spacious and well lit and the interiors have a whimsical touch to them - sort of if Alice lived not in Wonderland, but in Kilburn. They also have quite a few tables outside.
The food is good value for money and they try their best to rise above the locale. My friends swear by their Surf and Turf option (both burger and half lobster are huge).
They also have music and all sorts of entertainment going on various days.
