This Sydney Street spot is the fourth branch from Bumpkin - a chain that kicked things off with a venue in Notting Hill. It's all about classic British cooking here, with an emphasis on locally-sourced, seasonal ingredients - so expect regularly changing menus that keep the culinary focus on Old Blighty.
Dishes range from full English breakfasts and Sunday brunches to slow-cooked pork bellies served with poached Granny Smith apples, dressed Cornish crab with English caviar and toast, and line-caught sea bass with a caper and anchovy nut butter and samphire. The butcher's meat board - a popular choice - features cured meats from West Dorset.
The wine list offers further homage to Britain, with Chapel Down, Hush Heath, Bolney and Nyetimber just some of the home-county wineries showcasing their wares. Bumpkin brew their own ale, too.

Bumpkin Chelsea has a beautiful garden that overlooks the Chelsea Gardener. It has a retractable roof and heaters, so it can be used all-year round. There's also a private room on the top floor that can be booked for meetings or parties. The menu features seasonal, local meat and produce, including their amazing burgers, cod & chips, steak, pork belly, salads and their award-winning sticky toffee pudding, not to mention a full bar with a large selection of English wines.
Love going to Bumpkin Chelsea for their fab mac 'n' cheese and lovely garden. Great location to grab a meal and drinks after shopping on the King's Road.
Absolutely loved it. I booked the garden for a large group for my Birthday and each and everyone of us commented on how good it was. The garden is such a great addition, but the food and drink was the real winner. The staff there clearly know what they are doing and service was friendly, attentive but not over-bearing. I look forward to the next visit.
Came here for lunch on a whim recently, having been the Kensignton branch, we were expecting good things, and they definitely delivered!
We sat in the outside area, which was well heated. I had the seabass, which was cooked perfectly- amazing!
Service was friendly and prompt and the food was not only tasty but great value for your money.
I will be going again and trying out this place for dinner!
I have been to all the Bumpkins before and was never a fan. When the one on Sydney Street opened with a garden near my house I reluctantly gave it a go. It was a birthday dinner for 30+ people I organized, which is always a hassle in London. My experience here exceeded all my expectations. Thanks to their amazing manager, Karolina, we had one of funnest dinners. We were not required to choose a fixed menu, she accommodated all our desires and the food was great! Have been back many times since and am always warmly welcomed by all the staff!
