Very loud, quite dark, fairly hard to have a conversation. Service wasn't great - they forgot our starter and then tried to bring it when we were mid burger! It was also very expensive for what it was...

Did this branch of Byron have a previous life as a surf club lounge in the 70s? The formica tabletops and orange graphic wallpaper say yes and it makes me like this place even more. But I'm only going to talk about one thing other than the decor, and that's the newly-launched Reese's peanut butter cup shake. This is like a peanut butter milkshake on crack. Like all Byron milkshakes it's made from about 3 scoops of ice-cream and actual ingredients - no artificial syrup (yeurch!) but real peanut butter and actual real Reese's pieces, so when you're starting to get bummed out because you're getting to the end of your milkshake, these little creamy peanutty chocolate chunks just pop up at the bottom of your cup like the happiest milkshake ending I can think of. For that Byron gets 4.5 stars, then they get another 0.5 stars for the '70s surf club lounge decor and smiley staff.

Simple yet scrumptious food. Burgers, home-cooked chips and milkshakes all delicious. Must be one of the best burger joints in London.
