Café Mamma has changed names a few times but has remained a west London fixture across its 25-year history. Just a short walk from Kew Gardens, it sits in a pretty courtyard with unusual design features, including a clothes line – complete with clothes – hanging above the outdoor tables. The menu focuses very much on Italian classics – antipasti, pasta, risottos, pizzas and various meat and fish dishes.

We went to this restaurant based on recommendation of a friend to celebrate our mother's birthday. I made the booking online and received an email. The websites indicates 20% discount if you book online and sends you a confirmation mail that is NOT recognised by the staff. When you show what the website indicates, they reluctantly apply the discount. The service is truly horrible: when asked for oregano, the old male man ( who might be the owner or just a waiter) replies; "Oregano is already in your dish". Pizza dough very good but undercooked as well as the starters ( Bruschetta below average with tasteless tomatoes and garlic mushroom that costs £7.50 is not worth the money as mushrooms are undercooked too) Service charge (15%) added to the bill as optional but when you leave 10% they come to you and say " did I work for you for free" Will never go again. And definitely not recommend to anyone.
