Canada Water Cafe 2015

Time Out says

Canada Water Café opened in the summer of 2014 and serves a short, mainly Italian menu and drinks both hot and cold. The menu focuses on pasta and especially pizza, with special pies of the week alongside the regular selection. La Cafona, for example, features baked potato, rosemary, mozzarella, smoked cheese and Italian sausage - made with no tomato sauce. They also have a breakfast menu, and daily specials at both lunch and dinner. Canada Water Café places heavy emphasis on the quality of its coffee, using beans from some of the best roasters in London, and offers occasional 'latte art' classes for customers.

Colourful cafe in Canada Water. Not very inventive with their name but who am I to judge? It was busy. Maybe because there's not much else in the area. Staff took a while to take our order but they were cheerful and happy. Food was decent. The waiter seemed to pressure us to see desserts but the menu never came, so we just asked for the bill.

Wheelchair access: step free entrance but didn't check if there were accessible toilets.

People seem to be mad for this cafe. It's practically famous in the local area.

Now don't get me wrong I did enjoy my visit. The staff were really friendly and he had a nice atmosphere although it does try very hard to be hipster know, mismatching furniture and quirky pieces in random places. The usual thing.

The breakfast was tasty, no complaints there but I still don't really get why everyone is giving it 5 star reviews.

To my mind it was pleasant but I've had way better. The all day breakfast was egg on toast, 1 tomato, 2 teensy sausages, a slither of bacon and a fingerful of mushrooms. Where's the has browns and the beans?! And it wasn't cheap. It did look gorgeous and I think that's maybe what you're paying for but it didn't strike me as value for money.

I think this place is considered a bit of a gem because it basically has no competition. Canada Water and Rotherhithe desperately need more cafes and because it's lacking in this area the Canada Water cafe is the default winner.

It's good but not that good me thinks

It's name doesn't do this establishment justice, it's an oasis in a fast developing regeneration area in Surrey Quays. Family friendly and great all day service. Lovely outdoor space with tables looking toward the former dock, from breakfasts to post-work supper and drinks it's the local diner for busy young commuters and a lunch-time canteen for local workers and parents. A stroll away from the best Decathlon in Britain, combine great food with sport shopping.

Probably the best English breakfast in town. Victim of its success and due to its limited space, it is possible that you might have to line up to obtain a table

One of my favourite places in London. Great pizza, salads and coffee and friendly staff.

What do you think of when you think 'Canada Water'? Steel, endless grey pavements and glass, edge of Canary Wharf? If so you will understand my hesitation in meeting a friend here for brunch. As it was she is in the know and had a great spot up her sleeve in the form of this charming cafe. It was packed when we arrived, however we waited just 15 minutes for a table. Service was friendly if a little rushed, though we lingered happily at our table for over two hours with no nudges to leave by our waitress. Food was good- the usual options of pancakes, eggs various ways and full English breakfasts. This is a lovely little spot and handily located right next to the Tube stop, so once you've eaten up you can dive back into the Tube and return to London's prettier areas.

Great food, great coffee, great service and lovely decor! It definitely is worth a visit!

Friendly staff, truly delicious coffee, excellent breakfast and great atmosphere.

Definitely the best cafe/restaurant in this area!

The sourdough pizza bases are my world. Delicious food and wine and Bollinger is only £55 a pop.

Funky cafe with great breakfast and amazing Neapolitan pizzas for lunch and dinner.

More than a 'cafe'.. great genuinely 'home made' pizzas, lovely breakfasts, cocktails, wine, beer etc...and the coffee is rather good too!!
Great friendly service, very pleasant decor ( the toilets are worth a visit.!! ) and long opening hours.. breakfast till late evening.
A new gem in an area that needs more places like that.
A genuine happy customer.

A local favourite of mine. We often nip down for brunch at the weekend where the Full English is definitely the obvious choice. Huge mountains of scrambled egg on top of sourdough toast, perfectly complimented by some roast vine tomatoes. And the coffee... simply sublime!

It's also a good spot to come for a glass of wine on a hot day due to the large terrace they have at the front. The staff are attentive and accommodating but service can sometimes be a little slow. If you're sat in the sun though... who cares?

Just experienced this little beauty for the first time after 3 years living in the area. On questioning the owner, it seems this little pad opened in August 2014, and what a welcome addition it is.

A great spot for brunch. Full english is massive (expect a lot of highly piled scrambled egg goodness) and some tasty rye toast, amongst other delights. Nice seats outdoors if it's a sunny day. Good apple juice.

It's very kid friendly (they'll be racing around indoors and out) so a good one for families. Also ok to go without, like we did but you may experience a kid on a scooter ramming into your table full throttle as we did. Amused.

Excellent breakfasts and the coffee is amazing! Staff are always very friendly! In the evenings they serve frehly made pizza's which are superb!
