An Indian street food restaurant founded by three brothers, with the intention of sharing their Nanima's (gran's) recipes with the people of London. The food menu comprises a selection of 'naasto' (snacks), including Punjabi curries, kebabs, samosas, salads and puri (filled deep-fried dough parcels), plus veggie, vegan and gluten-free options.
Chai Naasto have a sister site in Beckenham.
The name ‘Chai Naasto’ was inspired by the beloved Indian tradition of enjoying a delicious snack (‘naasto’) and washing it all down with a hot cup of tea (‘chai’). If, however you’d prefer something stronger, we have you covered. Alongside a lip-smacking selection of eclectic and flavoursome street food, there is also a quirky and rustic bar serving a range of refreshingly, original cocktails and hand-sourced craft beer.
With family playing such an important part in Indian culture, it follows suit that Chai Naasto is a family affair. Run by three distinctly different brothers, Chai Naasto is a vibrant melting pot that offers uniquely diverse street food, inspired by the legendary home-cooking of our queen, Nanima (‘grandmother’). We have taken this passion for traditional cooking and transported it to a setting that is energetic and forward-thinking.
Just as India is constantly changing, growing and moving forward, so too is the menu at Chai Naasto. It is extensive and guaranteed to offer up new and tasty surprises every month. From hearty kebabs to scintillating curries, with a selection of gluten-free, kid, vegan and vegetarian-friendly options; there really is something for everyone.
So, next time your rumbling tummy implores you to fill it with exciting and fresh street food, let us transport you to the bustling streets of India via London in one mouthful.
