Time Out says

There's more to this Chiswick coffee house than initially meets the eye. Sure, there's a focus on high-quality coffees made from Workshop Coffee and Drop Coffee, but head downstairs and you'll find it's not just about the bean.

Chief's subterranean lounge plays host to classic pinball machines from the '80s and '90s - those in the know might recognise Cactus Canyon, Monster Bash, Medieval Madness or Cirqus Voltaire. And if you don't know your plunger from your playfield? They offer lessons, too.

Coffee remains a focus, though. Workshop and Drop provide the beans but they make their own cold-brews and iced-coffees with an in-house Kalita Wave Dripper. Their sweet treats do some very brisk business, too, including three crodoughs from the Rinkoff bakery that are ordered in each day and cakes from Sweet Butterfly.

Really good coffee, Allpress coffee from NZ is just the best. Cool little space and friendly barista's.

First visit and it was amazing! Friendly people, juicy coffee and the pinball was nostalgic.

Highly recommended!!

Best coffee in Chiswick, relaxed atmosphere, difficult to drag yourself away

Great view from the front window whilst drinking the best coffee in Chiswick or London. Pinball a total gas, great for kola and you gas it keeps the brain active. Love it.

Best coffee and interior by far. Amazing pinball lounge and great friendly staff. Just perfect.

Chiswick' community of cafes keeps growing! Here is Chief Coffee, a lovely new coffee place located just of Turnham green tube station. You love their coffees and range of cakes, and you must visit the lower ground with classic pinball machines, it brings all the fun  back from your childhood. A good spot with kids!

Absolutely love Chief. I've been crazy about coffee for a while but thanks to Chief I'm now pretty excited by pinball too :)

Chief Coffee is everything you want from a coffee shop upstairs...friendly staff, good coffee and food...however it's the pinball room downstairs that sets it apart from anywhere else - so much fun to be had! Pinball is a fantastic hobby so any location that offers it (and unfortunately not many do) is well worth a visit!

Who needs the coffee when you can get so wired on the pinball? Grand Champion of Cirqus Voltaire, moi?

Great coffee, service, location and top quality pinball machines, seriously recommend checking it out.

Amazing place to go and play pinball plus great teas in vintage cups and saucers AND COLD BREW COFFEE!

Great coffee Great building and Pinball Machines, its up there with the best of the best

Great coffee , super friendly staff & owner & to cap it all it has pinball lounge , coffee, pinball what else do you need !?

Chief has quickly become my favourite coffee spot in Chiswick. Tamp and Artisan are both very good but Chief shades it for me. Their flat whites, made with Workshop coffee, are not just the best in Chiswick - they hold their own against anywhere in London.

A new and extremely welcome addition to Chiswick's 'small but growing' collection of proper cafes with proper coffee and various after-hours events for locals.

The staff are great, and they're also particularly active on social media, so you can have that surreal experience of tweeting to a business while you are in it. For me, this never gets old.
