There's more to this Chiswick coffee house than initially meets the eye. Sure, there's a focus on high-quality coffees made from Workshop Coffee and Drop Coffee, but head downstairs and you'll find it's not just about the bean.
Chief's subterranean lounge plays host to classic pinball machines from the '80s and '90s - those in the know might recognise Cactus Canyon, Monster Bash, Medieval Madness or Cirqus Voltaire. And if you don't know your plunger from your playfield? They offer lessons, too.
Coffee remains a focus, though. Workshop and Drop provide the beans but they make their own cold-brews and iced-coffees with an in-house Kalita Wave Dripper. Their sweet treats do some very brisk business, too, including three crodoughs from the Rinkoff bakery that are ordered in each day and cakes from Sweet Butterfly.
