Had a few bad experiences with rude staff but after a year hiatus decided to try again with a take away. The food was truly disgusting. I don't know how you can cock-up nachos but they did. Included sort of naked looking baked beans, tinned sweetcorn, and a really sweet tomato ketchup sauce. None of us- including the kids- could eat them. Had a Farmers John burger. It was rank. Greasy, sloppy, mess between soggy buns, really unappealing looking- let alone tasting. And the chips were really bad. My kids tried and then left their chips!! Breaking virgin ground here. Seriously. Sort it out or close it up.
They do great deals on their mailing list, me and a mate had 2-4-1 burgers for lunch from here! Nice food, nice venue
Some of the finest hot wings I've tried upon these shores. The buttermilk chicken was sensational too.Comfort food central!
My favourite spot in Muswell Hill for a relaxed bite (though my doctor probably won't encourage repeat visits). Generous portions, all of it good. Go for the buttermilk chicken, mash and gravy if you're feeling extremely hungry.
Fantastic independent chicken restaurant with the best service in town; can do no wrong. The brimming nachos tray followed by a blazing saddle burger made with fried buttermilk chicken and a frozen Margarita is a recipe for total Muswell Hill Satisfaction.
Brilliant. Very light and airy place. Very edgy look to it as well. Had a lovely bottle of IPA, one of the best I've had in years. Dishes are fairly cheap and very well presented, with most in an American diner sort of feel. Picked the Chicken Nacho Salad which was fantastic. Very busy, fun looking dish which tasted great. Service was great too. Will be going back regularly. Great little place.
I went for Ribs, but what can I say, it does do exactly what it says on the tin – Chicken. On entering I can say it was refreshing to see this cool chicken place in the heart of muswell hill. The styling works for sure. The welcome was warm and friendly. Upon placing the order on a Friday I was told there were no ribs until 7pm. Seems a little odd to only serve them from 7 when there is nowhere on the menu that states this, and upon asking I was told they are served on Friday nights, but I didn’t realise Friday nights only started at 7! Oh well, bit of a farce but anyhow we opted for the chicken tray dinner. I have to say the chicken was finger lickin good. Both the buttermilk with the crispy batter and grilled chicken with its tasty marinade went down a treat. The sides were pretty average, bland rice and poorly flavoured beans. The coleslaw was in a pool of mayo and the onion rings – basically just a grease fest. The kids dinner was poor, chicken ok but tiny and the salad was erm a cherry tomato cut in half two cubes of cucumber and iceberg lettuce, pretty damn average! Saying all this, staff were attentive, chicken was tasty and therefore deserves a good star rating alone. I might just have to try the ribs unless I fancy going into town to pit cue company or bodeans!
Tried it today, the concept is good but quality nothing special. Salad I ordered was very basic small quantity no dressing and when I asked for extra dressing I was told I would need to pay £1 extra. The childrens menu is very basic, no vegetables, just chips and salad. At least mash or baked potato should be offered for kids menu. Music loud, service not efficient. Guess its still breaking in as it only opened two weeks ago. Monkey nuts which is owned by the same person as Chooks much better and Giraffe is definitely the family place in Muswell Hill. Chooks with some tweaking called be good.
