After reading many good reviews and seeing tasty looking cakes on their Instagram, my friends and I were eager to visit Cocomaya for an afternoon treat on a Saturday. But what a disappointment! Despite being earlier afternoon (2pm-2.30pm) nothing was left...Only few stale cakes battling in 3-4 plates. The staff was indifferent and very snappy when we asked for hot drinks...especially hot chocolate which they were also running out. So we had two pears and hazelnuts cakes which were average and teas out of spite - and were rudely directed to their next door tea room. Feeling not welcome we ate our cakes and quickly left. Sadly, it wasn't a great experience and will probably not go back this bakery.

I’ve been to Cocomaya this Saturday at 2:30pm. Remember well this 2:30pm, and not 5pm or 6pm just before the closing.

I heard a lot of the place a few months ago and wanted to give it a shot, but the café was closing early this summer and I was always considering going, a bit late. I finally managed to find a moment on Saturday, and early in the afternoon!

Mouth-watering after having a last check at their Instagram, my two friends and I arrived at Cocomaya.

First bad surprise, all the delicious looking cakes we saw on their Instagram were absent. We got only a choice between 4 cakes, and we picked one more out of spite rather than by envy.

The three staffs were impolite and this is definitely not great to arrive in a café with grumpy staff.

No hot chocolate anymore at 2pm on a Saturday. No cakes and no hot chocolates it was starting to be a bit too much, especially when you are expecting a place to bake its cakes freshly in the morning.

The cake we took, pear and hazelnuts, was ok, but not that good. I bake myself and I am expecting to find something more original that what I am doing at home.

This is a big deception, and I will not go back.

After a lovely wander round Regent's Park on bank holiday Monday, bf and I headed back home via Connaught street and thought we'd pop in to Cocomayas for a coffee and cake.

Unfortunately it was gone 3pm and all their cronuts had sold out so we didn't get to try another flavour (been once before but dying to try a few different flavours).
Although not sunny it was warm so we sat outside with a latte (really good) and some cake. I got the pecan slice and bf had the chocolate cheesecake bar. Both were delicious.
There were tonnes of other cakes I wanted to try but for the size (quite small) they were pretty expensive!
It was lovely to sit out side with delicious treats. A definite recommend. Even there tap water comes out in a jug filled with lemon, orange, cucumber and raspberries to make it taste ultra refreshing
Will definitely be back for more treats and dying to try their sandwiches and salads!

I love coming to this place for an amazing cup of tea (Earl Blue Mountain) and a slice of their delicious carrot cake! Cocomaya is a small cafe off Sloane Square, the interior decoration will strike you and you will find hard to make a choice among all the amazing food laid out near their till! a place to go and chill with some taste and style!

I love coming here for a cup of tea and one of their excellent cakes. The cake selection features rich and 'sinful’ options such as the devil’s food cake, which has a rich velvet-like chocolate texture (not at all like the traditional American namesake) and great little pastries, in an ever-changing variety of flavor combinations. They also have a vast array of tea to choose from, such as this beautiful rose petal one below…
