Wonderfully rustic vegan café in a shipping container.

The menu here is comprised of a series of ‘bowls’, each of which is colourful enough to resemble a rainbow. They can be customised with tofu – or for something a little bit ‘meatier’, fake chicken – and rammed full of colourful vegetables (even the rice is half cauliflower). Each generously sized portion is served in a bowl made from recycled cardboard, and you eat with a wooden fork. Cook Daily must be one of the most unpretentious restaurants in the capital.

Owner and head chef King Cook has Laotian heritage, which is reflected in his cooking. There are lots of Southeast Asian flavours here, with his mum’s green curry and the yoga fire bowl (chilies married to coconuts) standout favourites. For under a tenner you get a healthy, genuinely satisfying, rainbow in a bowl. This isn’t rabbit food, it’s unicorn fare.

Spicy sweet 'n' sour pravn (spell this way as it is vegan) noodles, what a flavour sensation! Cook Daily offers authentic Asian flavours at Shoreditch's Boxpark. A large variety of vegan dishes to drool over, it's so hard to choose! My dish was a large serving of noodles, the right amount of spice and sweet with perfectly cooked seasonal vegetables including Okra. Cook Daily know how to serve up amazing vegan food that I could easily have daily! A new favourite and one eatery I will keep going back for more. Well done team.

Been wanting to try this place for a while now and on a sunny day made the trek out to the land of beards and tight trousers. I passed a kid in Doc Martins and shorts, who also donned classic flannel with a lovely Canadian toque. I immediately felt old in my attire which better fit the weather (sensibility over style is the war cry of the 30 year old). Now full disclosure: I enjoy my meat products, I was nearly tempted by nearby Porky's but held my ground as I wanted to try somewhere new. I can thankfully say I was not disappointed.

I ordered the vegan noodle bowl with tofu and was served a pretty decent portion of noodles, served with delicious crunchy greens. I ordered it medium at the discretion of the employee, I found it very nicely spiced and not very challenging (e.g. gasping for milk). That being said it definitely left residual heat, so note to self: bring gum.

Every food item on the menu was £9, which considering I was not hungry till hours later I cannot fault (considering what people pay at the coffee/cafe chains). Also I am pretty sure the whole clean eating/vegan-ness of the products adds to the price. However, Ice tea was a staggering £3.50. Considering I can get pretty delicious bubble tea downstairs for the same price... I found that quite an atrocious amount.

Still- full props for flavour and taste. If you are a vegan/veggie or know someone who is-- definitely give this place a shot!

Amidst the Shoreditch-as-dystopia surroundings of Boxpark, Cook Daily offers quick, filling, healthy, and cheap-ish food. Not a place to linger given the cramped shipping container itself or the bleakly futuristic seating just outside, but good if you like internationally inflected vegan food.
