Having taken over the kitchens at Bloomsbury’s The Perseverance and Brixton’s Hootenanny, with its original collection-only spot in Telegraph Hill still doing a roaring trade, Dinner For One Hundred’s new Nunhead restaurant marks the rapidly growing pizza empire’s first fully-owned sit down venture. Pizzas are still at the heart of the matter but there are also sides and salads, lunch-only panuozzo (a pizza dough sandwich) and an almost bafflingly good value spritz menu.
Show us another place where you can get an aperol for under a fiver in a trendy bit of London and, well… you just can’t. With casual curbside dining out the front, a dinky, two-table garden out the back, and the sort of pleasingly eclectic decor inside that brings to mind a daylight version of famed Soho drinking den Trisha’s (old film posters; haphazard art; random people’s holiday photos), Bar D4100 has the breezy vibe of a neighbourhood hang out - with added dough.
