The Dial Arch is a solid, reliable pub. It's a pub pub. But with big old brick walls, leather sofas that you can just sink into and a huge fire place, you really couldn't ask for more. Solid, tasty pub food and all the big favourite ales available - from local brewery Hop Stuff to guest ales and of course, the ever famous Young's Double Chocolate Stout (trust me on this one). Not as cheap as your good old uni pub, but you're a grown-up now, remember? So paying £9 for two beers shouldn't knock you off your feet (I joke, I still have a mini-heart attack every time). None the less, the Dial Arch gives off a good vibe that's worth the price of drinks - excellent terrace outside for the summer, sometimes live bands and always a tasty Sunday roast.

The restaurant side isn't as fun as fun as the bar side and service is slow but the food was OK. The pulled pork pizza with apple sauce and crackling was a winner.
