This Victoria branch of the dim sum chain is one of five in London - there's another in Winchester, too. This one certainly looks the part, with plenty of polished dark wood and impressive oriental sculptures, as well as a few zashiki-style seats - low slung tables with a sunken floor for feet.

Baskets of dim sum are dim t's bread and butter, with prawn and chive, sea bass and miso, scallop and prawn, and roast pork buns just some of the steamed dumplings on offer. There's an extensive selection outside of the dim sum, moving away from China to offer more of a pan-Asian vibe. Dishes range from chicken gyoza and five-spiced squid to yaki soba, phad Thai, seafood laksa and nasi goreng.

A short wine list focuses on the old world, with mandarin mojitos, lychee and lemongrass martinis and mango and coconut rum punches examples of a more exotic cocktail list. An extensive tea selection includes organic peony, jasmine flower, iced lychee, fresh mint and English breakfast - good old builders' tea, then.

Keep an eye out for special offers and some good-value set menus.

Looking for a place to eat dim sum I ended up at Dim t. Never had been there before. Was excellent. Nice food, inexpensive. So overall a very nice experience. Going to be back at Dim t that's for sure.

This place was amazing once... But it lost it all. Now it seems like the chain has become special offer central. I have to say its been at least two months since I've been but I can not stomach returning. Try it once and you will see what I mean

I would have to defend dim t. I'm Chinese and perhaps I don't expect much from London in terms of authentic Asian cuisine but I don't find dim t to be remotely as poor as these reviews have made it out to be. It is indeed a 'beginner's guide to Asian cuisine' but done fairly well. Not exquisite, but definitely good. Their steamed pork buns are comparable, if not better, than some of the ones I've had back home in Hong Kong!

The worst, most rude service I have ever received in many years of eating out. Avoid like a plague.
