El Burrito

El Burrito is currently doing battle with Benito’s Hat for control of the area’s lunchtime hordes; its prices are slightly lower, but whether its tacos, burritos and quesadillas are better remains open to debate. A queue snakes out of the door at peak times, and most customers choose to take their food away with them – not surprising, given the rather uninspiring interior (the small room at the rear, largely undecorated save a handful of functional tables and chairs, is an unappealing place to eat). Burritos are the main draw; they’re filling, juicy and fresh-tasting, though go easy on the potent hot sauce. Our one complaint? Being charged 50p for guacamole or pico de gallo salsa seems a little unfair.

Mr K

This is by FAR the best, most authentic Burrito, in London, that I have tried. I have tried a great amount of burritos in London. This is for those who are looking for a real Mexican Burrito and not UK's frequent 'wrap type' adaptations. Reasonably priced, fresh, very friendly & genuine staff. The back room for eating in has improved a huge deal, showcasing Mexican visual artists' work and offering Mexican condiments, real corn tortilla chips and all sorts of salsa for sale. While a 'hip&trendy' Londoner could describe this place as boring looking and plain, it's authentic and real. To me, that's what's important when I am looking for a burrito. The only issue I have is that they could manage the queue at peak times better.
