In a refreshing change to the typical Mexican restaurant penchant for putting a Latin twist on everything from drinks to toilet dispensers, Exquisito – set amid the bodegas and betting shops of Blackstock Road – goes no further than a couple of ponchos pinned to the walls and an inner bunting of terracotta tiles. The kitchen’s insistence on breaking down culinary borders can have mixed results: duck fajitas would have been better with shredded rather than cubed meat, but pollo relleno (chicken stuffed with chilli and cheese on a bed of spiral fries) was bursting with flavour and built to satisfy a large appetite. Chorizo and garlic bread were delivered with a rustic flourish on wooden plates. A cheerful, charming place.

Good food, great atmopshere and well established local restaurant. What makes you think it's in Brownswood, though? It's very definitely in Blackstock Road.

we had a lovely meal in Exquisito with my girlfriend. Got the main course Fajitas and nice glass of Chardonnay. They gave us free shots at the end. We deffinatly coming back next time we are in London.

Didn't get a chance to try to food. After being seated, we spent 15 minutes trying to get the attention of the waitresses to order a drink. They just kept walking straight past and ignoring us! Eventually we got up and left and went elsewhere. Try Leziz for fantastic Turkish food if you're in the area.
