Time Out says

A shellfish restaurant in Marylebone that's decked out like a fancy diner (plush booths and sleek table seating). Crab is the speciality here (surprise, surprise), but there's also scallop ceviche, tuna tartare, oysters and more. Taking pride of place on the menu is the Red King Crab from the northern Atlantic Ocean: it's only caught once a year and they serve it on ice or baked to allow the flavours of the crab to shine through.

There’s quite a lot going for Fancy Crab, but I gotta say brunch isn’t really one of them. The King Crab Benedict looked very impressive but was rather drenched in the hollandaise which overpowered the natural sweetness and flavour of the king crab. It also doesn’t help the muffins as they got soggy as well. Eggs Benedict is a fine art of construction, timing and understanding each ingredient that makes the dish so that it’s not soggy and the flavours are well balanced without it being too heavy and rich - and I’ve gotta say, I still haven’t had a stellar one in London yet, but it doesn’t stop me from trying and trying and trying. A word of warning, The Fancy Crab Hash is deceptive in its name, it actually doesn’t have any crab in it so is a vegetarian dish. Avoid the coffee - it’s not great; however, I’m told the Bloody Mary is good. Overall, the service needs a bit of practice and the brunch dishes a bit of refinement; however, I would give it one more shot for the dinner or lunch menu.

What we had:

* King Crab Benedict: Picked red crab, toasted muffins, avocado & smoked chilli, Yuzu lime hollandaise

* Fancy Crab Hash: Potato & kale hash, marinated heritage tomatoes, duck egg & seaweed butter

Tip: book ahead for the booths, or sit near the crab window to watch the chefs in dissembling action.

Good For: something different, casual brunch/ lunch/ dinner.

Excellent menu of a crab and wine! We had a big dinner and we ordered a lot of different food - all dishes was perfectly cooked! I highly recommend the grilled crab leg and burger!Enjoyed the experience and would definitely go back.

It was a very delicious!!! Great food and great wines! All people who love seafood - must go and must test this Red King Crab 🦀 🦀🦀 Ideal place for lunch and dinner with friends And by the way a lot of other options not just crab something for everyone.

What promised to be a lovely evening filled with seafood delights turned out to be a miserable encounter....

When we first entered the restaurant we were told by a very boisterous woman that we would be seated downstairs... Where may I add, no one else happened to be seated.... It was much darker and gloomy looking so I politely asked if we could be seated upstairs with the natural light. She then had the nerve to flat out lie to our faces and say "we're fully booked" when the restaurant was as empty as a stray can in the desert!!!

After showing her our disapproval she went to speak to someone who let us sit upstairs. After experiencing such obvious racism we were uncomfortable but we were hungry and hopeful the food would at least be better than the service.

The food was overpriced. Not expensive.overpriced. for the quantity and even quality it was simply ridic and I dont expect the building to be filled anytime soon. We made a formal complaint to the manager who then made the feeble attempt to admonish the racist... She gave us a shoddy apology and stomped off. Can you believe after all this he then had the brass to charge us 20% service charge instead of the 12.5% advertised ?????!!!!!

Naturally we refused to pay it and I wouldn't recommend this place to anyone! If the manager himself can't keep the customers happy than dont expect much from the establishment.
