There's a focus on clean living at this new concept restaurant in Dalston - it's all about a holistic approach to the food and drink that's served. That means environmental sustainability when it comes to sourcing, an apparently 'alkaline' Mediterranean menu, and 'pure' (filtered) water used throughout the prep. There's plenty of the latter to drink, too.
The fully-vegan menu boasts an Italian bent, with options ranging from pizzas by the slice (think home-made cashew mozzarella-style cheese, soy ham, spicy seitan salami, soy sausage, olives and chilli flakes) to garlic bread, gluten-free pasta, healthy salads and 'pure' soups.
There's booze on the drinks list, so don't go thinking it's all holier-than-thou here. The Wild Card Brewery provides the real ale, Italy the lager and Devon the cider. Plus there's old world wines by the glass, and a cocktail list that includes negronis, mojitos, cuba libres and caipirinhas. But health freaks fret not - there are freshly squeezed juices, organic soft drinks, herbal teas and plenty of that filtered water. There's strong Italian coffee, too.

This is the best fusion between italian and global biodynamic aware gastronomy.
There is a thought and art in any detail.
so nice to have vegan options in a pizza place. Amazing tomato sauce and base. Thumbs up from a fellow Italian
Amazing food and a very passionate owner who always makes time to come and chat and make you feel welcome! Thanks Fab! :)
seriously stylish space, cool music and yummy food.....opp. Dalston station too! love the chilled atmosphere music events and people stopping there. Like Shoreditch used to be. cool, stylish and edgy. Affordable yummy Italian food.
Every successful business is run by passion and Fabio is the master of pasta in Hackney.....all we need is Love while making food!! F.E.D is the place!!
Fed by Love.... as Love is in each dish I have tried here! Great atmosphere too and the best Spritz in town! it's a must!
UNBELIEVABLE ! I used to eat pizza 4-5 time a week in Rome, but I never expected to find such a tasty one in London. One of the best three pizza I never tasted. Staff is an added value Super Cozy and well designed place, and Good vibes for Music Lovers. An EMOTIONAL experience not to be missed Definitively!
Now that is one real reason to get to Dalston-chilled, beautifully designed space with yummy Italian food. DJ and Aperitivo events will rock your food- met many cool creatives there, lunching or dining with their Macs. A destination place for sure .
Amazing place! Cool ambient and friendly people. Very italian style food. Delicious cakes and tipical italian products! Good music. Something a part the people and the staff... All was kindley and smart!!! We had a greath aperitivo and spent great time.
Love this place. So much care goes into everything they do; the food is delicious, the staff are friendly and passionate, it's unique to the area and the atmosphere is warm and welcoming. The vibe totally changes in the evenings - it's like a little piece of the Med in Dalston!
Great authentic place. The kitchen works hard to deliver really healthy and tasty food. Aperitivo idea is excellent. Eat and drink for just 10 quid! Good stuff.
Absolutely appalling customer service worst I have ever encountered. The manager/ owner is rude and doesn't try satisfy customer complains rather makes up lies and bullies people into just being silent. Swerve this place there are so many nice wonderful vegan restaurants there is no need to go to ones with such a low level of customer satisfaction in sorting out concerns.
The pizza is amazing, the staff are amazing, the service is amazing. It is my favourite restaurant so far
rubbish out of packets..and part of one in my mouth after eating a starter..they dont even make there own pasta! haha
My favourite Italian in Dalston /Hackney. Thank you Fabio for being very professional and friendly. Great original food cooked to order. Satisfaction guaranteed.
Super friendly staff and best of all a great choice of Vegan food which is so hard to come by in this area of London. Their vegan mushroom Calzone is to die for.
Great vegan pizzas just like in Naples!! Great ambiance great people and great music... what else? Is just all great.
Amazing italian food with great selection for vegetarian enthusiasts!!! And Music is good there too ...
Fedbywater not only has the most friendly attentive staff but it also offers a range of delicious vegan dishes (and as a vegan I make a point of going here) in particular the four "cheese" vegan pizza and vegan mousse! Excellent place and would recommend it to all!
I love this place with its healthy and tasty food appealling to vegans as well as to "normal" food sinners. Slick design, interesting ambience, great music & sound, awesome italian coffe, good cakes and proper service.... What would you want more?
I must say that I had my doubts, as Italian, before deciding to enter this place.....the name wasn't Italian...the menu listed several vegan and vegetarian dishes (???!!!), plus it looked a bit too hipster to me ;-) ....but then, one day, I was reckless enough to dash in and order a plate of Spaghetti alla Bottarga!
I am addicted, so you know, for me it's like the Ultimate Test, Black or White, Live or Die and now............................. I am addicted to Fed, 100% Italian doc! Because the secret of a real plate of Spaghetti alla Bottarga is....La Bottarga, loads of it! (beside of course real spaghetti, properly cooked and real proper olive oil) . Bravi bene bis e tris e .... un amaro, grazie!
One of the best pizza I have ever tasted in my life happened at "FED by Water" in London....not in Rome. It's crazy! Lucky Londoners!!!
