The idea of an artisan bakery makes me drool and especially if its just down the road from where I hang out a lot.

I found an excuse to head here (not hard) and ordered two hot drinks and two cakes. The pricing is ok and it was busy (albeit a sunday morning) but luckily a family were leaving a table which meant we could jump in. The seat was still warm! I dont mind when somewhere is busy, I think it adds to a vibe and if turnaround is high the food is more fresh.

My major bug bear is in the location of this artisan bakery. Being in Nappy Valley means about 50% of the clientele are under 4 years old. I wish Icould say they were well behaved but we literally had food thrown across our table, children trying to climb on us, tantrums to the left and right of us and the thing that bugs me the most, parents / yummy mummies that are ignoring the children and are more attentive to their mobile phones.

I felt like I was in a creche and not in an artisan bakery.

Top tip: Dont visit this branch of Gails unless you want training in how to bring up children. Go to the Battersea Square branch where theres a calming atmosphere along with papers to read along with a Gail's coffee and breakfast; a perfect Sunday morning.

Gail’s bakery, is a chain but I really like it. The crackers in particular are faves of mine and I adore their selection of cakes, pastries and savouries delights. It’s always a difficult decision to make when I visit! They have a small dining and seating area. What I also love is that they have a great choice of different breads too. Cinnamon rolls and the mini honey cakes are good choices also.

Good coffee and cake lunch spot but not good for the waist line. So wouldn't recommend and temptation would be at an all time high. I sat outside and had a hot crust bun which was absolutely Devine... sadly the outside area is next to main road & out of the sun in the evening so not the most picturesque of places to sit.

Amazing place. Coffee is also great. Shame about the clealiness. Always filthy in the communal dining area. Toilets are the most disgusting public loo experience possible. Just had to clean someone's blood off the toilet seat. Disgraceful in the extreme.

A bit expensive compared to the very strong competition in the area at better prices.
