I like Giraffe for the fact that they offer so many dishes from so many countries at a very good price. The problem is, there’s always something that prevents it to be a fully satisfying meal. I’ve been coming to the Spitalfield branch for years every now and then and if the dish is ace, it’s not hot enough, if it’s hot enough, it’s not necessarily ace.

During the last visit both my friend and I ordered linguine with prawns and baby tomatoes. The dish was tasty, generous but the title items were so scarce that I could count with one hand – 4 prawns and 1,5 tomato! I think I won’t be coming back any time soon.

I visited Giraffe a couple weeks ago and I loved the outdoor space in Spitafields market. Because Spitafields is mostly covered, you do get fresh air but no rain!! (You have to admit it's a big plus for London)

The food was quite tasty (even though the portions are not really big) and the price is very reasonable.
Good to know: this Giraffe branch in Spitafields takes on bookings for big groups and arranges setup menus from £25 including main and desert.

I for one find Giraffe a good place to take people who have varied dietary requirements. I had a vegan, 2 x gluten free, nut allergy all in a group of 9 of us! (yes organising dinner is fun)

We checked out the menu in advance and saw plenty of options and a good price.

However after we ordered our waiter had to come back various times to tell us it was out of stock.

Our waiter was polite and patient and probably frustrated too but we could over hear the conversations from the kitchen. We ordered some meals that we were told would be bulked out with other ingredients and they wasn't.

The drinks were lovely but they took a while to arrive.

My brunch was nice but nothing to shout home about.

Overall great menu but I expected that on a Saturday lunch time they should be able to cater a little better. Service good and prices good. I probably won't return for a while now.
