Green's Steakhouse & Grill

Time Out says

This Southgate restaurant and bar specialises in steaks, with sirloins, rib eyes, fillets and T-bones given a hefty lick of heat from the grill. But it's not just cuts of beef here, with the rest of the menu combining dude food favourites, gastro salads and the odd dish of a fine-dining slant.

That means sticky BBQ wings, short ribs, onion rings and mac and cheese alongside pine nut and citrus salads, seafood and a sloe gin liver parfait starter served with red onion and juniper berry relish. A good-looking burger selection also features, with the XO burger looking mighty - two burgers with sweet BBQ sauce, Monterey Jack cheese, a cider battered onion ring and house 'slaw.

Beers and ciders come from Coors, Peroni, Desperados and Rekorderlig. Cocktails include classics such as mojitos, bellinis, cosmopolitans, bloody marys and London mules. All of the wines - bar three pricier bottles of each colour - are available by the glass.

Green's Steakhouse & Grill says

Overpriced, poor quality and tasteless food.  Went here for a 40th birthday party in a  group of 8 and not one us had a good meal.  Hang your heads in shame if you call yourself a steakhouse and cannot cook meat in line with your customer's orders and you main product, the steak, is sub-standard, cheap supermarket style meat  The staff did acknowledge our meal had been really bad and reduced the food bill by 50%. Read the other reviews, this place is consistently bad and at £29 for a rib-eye is dreadful value.

Seriously good. Been to Hawksoor many times but honestly it doesn't compare. Green's feels like relaxed and casual ambience and they don't take themselves too seriously, but it's slick and delivers. If I was super picky I would say it can get a bit crowded during the evenings, but that's all really. Love the jazz music there too. Love this place.

The best steak I've had in a very long time. All round great food and service.

Would highly recommend

I moved to Southgate few weeks back and already found my new favourite place to dine! :) Fantastic steaks, nice atmosphere and friendly staff!
