A long standing favourite on the local dining scene, the Herb and Spice Indian Cuisine restaurant is located on London’s Whites Row, just off the beaten track in trendy urban Spitalfields. A traditional Indian restaurant with trademark friendly, efficient service, Herb and Spice offers the best of the Asian kitchen for affordable prices and in clean, contemporary surroundings. The modern décor of the dining room still maintains those little touches particular to traditional Indian restaurants – the layered tablecloths and fan-folded napkins providing an indication of the detail that goes in to everything here. Back in the kitchen, attention to detail is just as important, with herbs and spices (of course) carefully selected and used in authentic recipes straight from the most well known culinary regions of India, adapted for a Western palate. The Herb and Spice menu is extensive, offering favourite Indian dishes and a particularly good vegetarian selection.

Best Indian in London - a total hidden gem. Food is amazingly fresh and while you can get your typical dishes, there have so much more to offer. We are regulars and I have tried a LOT of stuff off their menu and can honestly say I have never eaten anything I didn't love. Cannot recommend this place enough!

Delicious food, incredible value. My work colleagues and I often find ourselves making excuses to venture over for a mid-week meal and many of us have conceded taking family and friends there in the evenings and on weekends claiming that we've found the best Indian restaurant in E1 - no one yet has disagreed. Unassuming from the street, this should not be one of London's best kept secrets but instead should be lauded from every corner and roof top. The menu is exensive for such a small establishment but one should not be deterred from trying something new - the friendly staff will help you put together a menu that will, from my experience, cater for almost everyone and leave them wanting more. I've tried to resist succumbing to hyperbole in this short review but this little restaurant is that good. 'Give it a try, I doubt that you will be disappointed.
