Our first pizza was entirely Mushroom, Ricotta, Pumpkin Seed & Chilli flavoured because two of my friends really liked this flavour, having tried it multiple times before. This did not disappoint! Firstly, it really was a giant-sized pizza! It’s a good thing that they make them with a thin crust, so you can have more without filling up as quickly. Secondly, the combination of flavours went really well together. I liked that there were different textures on the pizza – some crunch from the pumpkin seeds, creaminess from the ricotta and a good chew from the pizza dough. The chilli flakes sprinkled on top added a nice touch of heat with each bite. Thirdly, each slice was cut into a very generous size so you really got to appreciate the tastes mixing in your mouth.

For our second pizza, we decided to go for the 50/50 option. One half consisted of Salami, Rocket & Parmesan. This is a classic Italian combination for pizza and was executed well! I really enjoyed this flavour because the salami used was very flavourful and sliced into large pieces instead of chopped up and scattered across the pizza. There was also a good handful of rocket leaves on top of the pizza and the parmesan shavings on top were perfection.

The other half of our 50/50 pizza was the Aubergine, Cauliflower Cheese, Spinach & Harissa flavour. This was a bit of a let down because I thought the taste didn’t stand out as much as I thought it would. The combination of ingredients sounded quite exciting on the menu but after tasting the pizza, it was pretty average. As you can see from the picture above, the harissa sauce wasn’t spread evenly so some slices got more than others and it really changed the flavour of the overall pizza in my opinion. I did like the cauliflower cheese though, I thought it was unique and it added a really nice creamy texture to the pizza.

Overall, a pretty satisfying experience! You are definitely getting your money’s worth of pizza at Homeslice and their menu consists of some pretty unique and interesting flavour combinations – things you wouldn’t find at your regular pizzeria, which makes it exciting! It was also delivered within a reasonable period of time (approx. 30 minutes) but the pizzas weren’t warm by the time we got them, which wasn’t an issue because it still tasted amazing. This is a really great option for parties because they’re generous with their toppings and sizes and it’s quite handy having the 50/50 option when you can’t decide what you want.

Let's start off: I'm a pizza snob, through and through. As a native NYer, I am privileged to have experienced fantastic pies and slices throughout my life. London has sorely disappointed on the other hand.

Now, I have eaten a courgette takeaway slice - 4 pounds!!!- and it was surprisingly delicious. Solid amount of topping, excellent dough base, enough cheese to satisfy me.

So, I took the plunge this weekend and decided to try a whole pie (with friends for God's sake, it's massive!)

The Fitzrovia location has dark wood paneling and whilst loud, is not overbearing. We got a server relatively quickly. We split a pie half and half: mushroom, ricotta, pumpkin seed and chili and then aubergine, cauliflower cheese, spinach and harissa on the other.

OMG. The flavour on the mushroom one is particularly punchy: rich 'shroom taste with a touch of heat. The aubergine is roasted perfectly and the harissa is SPICY. The crust is thin, which I prefer.

I am only dinking a star because the pizza is SO salty. In fact, beside the great flavour, that was what I immediately noticed. Could do without that.

Epic feeds, great value and great atmosphere. Service is top notch and staff go out of their way to accommodate you even if you are a large group. Homeslizzle keeping it rizzle

The best place for pizza in London! Not huge selection of pizzas (only pizza is served here) but enough variety to make you undecible on what to choose. About 10 different pizzas all written down in a blackboard. Friendly staff, nice atmosphere, hipsters around. A bit overpriced though.

One of my favourite pizza places in London! Concept remains the same: 20 inch diametre pizza for 20 quid but this branch is slightly different from the first in Neil's Yard. Improved interior, larger space, friendly atmosphere, same great quality of food, loud, ideal for a delicious night out! You can wait in the bar downstairs, have some cocktails or beer while you wait for a table to become free. Also, you can get a huge bottle of while and they'll measure it at the end to charge you accordingly (this is only at the restaurant, not the bar downstairs). Tip: you can ask politely to have half and half flavours on one pizza and you can get your leftovers home, if there are any! Best pizza in London by far, it is definitely worth a visit!
