Honest Burgers

Honest Burgers has gone the way of Byron, opening the umpteenth branch of their fine burger operation in a matter of mere months; McDonald’s, look out. When a chain expands this fast their initial fan base can ebb away, but in this case, there’s still a great deal to be happy about. The service was as chipper as ever on our visit, and the burgers and chips seasoned with rosemary salt were perfectly up to the standard of their other branches. Our waitress recommended the newest dish on the menu, the ‘special’, as having more kick than some of the longer-standing fixtures, and she was right – the mayo had a chilli hit, and the ‘tobacco onions’ (fried shreds, spicy) added a little extra oomph too.  The interior looks suitably hipster with a fixie bike mounted, like a taxidermy trophy, halfway up a bare brick wall; Tooting’s the new Shoreditch, after all.

Another Honest pop up down South, this time on Tooting High Street. Consistently good burgers at a reasonable price. Not much deviation on the menu but they do have varying specials. Always a good meal!

first time to the land of Honest burger and i really enjoyed it.

I had the self titled honest burger (who can resist a bacon cheeseburger) the relish was perfect giving each bite a slight sweetness and most importantly it came with chips!! these lovely crisp morsels of rosemary salted potato.

As it included chips and tastes good, it goes to the top of my burger joints for value and taste. Wish more of these burger places included a side. I noticed their brunch menu and the pics looked good so will probably give that a go one weekend

The only reason this review has more than a 1* rating is because the food is reasonably tasty. Albeit the lemonade was watery and overpriced (much like everything else), the burgers were small and the chips were dry, I understand rent is expensive in London and they've got to make money somehow. I am appalled, however, at the shocking customer service. My boyfriend had warned me about a previous visit where the waitress (the supposed 'supervisor') questioned and penalised him about only wanting water and at the end of the evening tried to give him her number. I took it with a pinch of salt until the waitress took my boyfriend's order for his drink and then walked away without even looking at me! The second waitress who served us - while the other stood idly twiddling her thumbs - came over and abruptly stated "Are you ready?" I was half expecting her to finish the sentence with "Or not?". She then almost did the same thing as the other waitress had my boyfriend not made a point of asking me if I wanted anything. Whilst we were eating she stood by the window on several occasions, slumped on the counter, people watching (as if there weren't customers to attend to or pounding music to turn down). For the entire painful experience I felt ignored and frustrated, I refuse to accept this level of rudeness just because a waitress fancies my boyfriend or it's "just how they are in London". Though the latter is much more likely, either excuse is a terrible justification for rude staff who blatantly don't want to be there. I should have listened when he suggested anywhere but there, I am disgusted and we will never be returning.

I have a love hate relationship with this place. I love the rosemary chips and that you get them included with the burger… but I think in terms of burger they’re lacking behind other joints in London… it's just not one of my favourites (too big (height) and not enough flavour). Sorry. I had the veggie burger on my last visit though which i really enjoyed!

Honest Burgers is definitely cementing itself as one of London's best burger joints and with more venues popping up around town you are never too far away from one when you need a NB fix.  This was my first outing to the Tooting branch (previously visited Soho and Brixton) and I was definitely not disappointed.  It is small, so I imagine will get busy quickly but we were lucky enough to get the last 2 seats at the window bar for a 12pm Sunday lunch.  The window is perfect for people watching along Tooting High Street!!! The staff were all friendly, knowledgeable and efficient with their service.  We had our burgers about 10 minutes after ordering, rosemary fries cooked to perfection as always!  We both opted for the Ribman special and it was all we had dreamed it would be and more!  Will be gutted when it is off the menu!!!  Yet to try the brunch menu but it looks amazing and I think I will need to head back soon to try it out!

Sometimes in life, simplicity is best- and Honest Burgers is a great testament to that. With so few items on their menu, they have honed their burgers down to a fine art rather than attempting to be a jack of all trades. As a pescatarian, there was only one burger for me to have but oh my, what a great burger it is! The Fritter is a hearty combination of cauliflower and sweetcorn blended with some seriously tasty spices. Add some cucumber yoghurt sauce and a sweet toasted brioche bun and you have one of the best vegetarian burgers a vegetarian could ask for. But, the experience is not over my friends- for Honest Burger also do Honest chips too, perfectly cooked chips sprinkled with rosemary salt to be exact. And then comes the onion rings- these are honestly (!) the best onion rings I've ever tasted. A crispy, crunchy batter (which I believe has a touch of paprika?) which engulfs the sweet, fresh onions. Are you sold? You should be.

This Tooting venue is rather small and being in a prime location (opposite the tube station, a bus stop outside), it does get rather busy, but it's definitely worth the wait. I mostly get a takeaway, (which you can usually call in advance so your order will be ready for when you arrive), so I can messily devour my burger in the comfort of my own home. I definitely recommend this place. Most definitely. Please save me some onion rings.

Best burgers in Tooting by a country mile and they deliver on service and quality every time. Great rotation of specials too!

So so Juicy and satisfying. Everything was totally honest in this burger! The beef tasted fresh, excellent quality and I could tell that real effort had been put into making this burger slightly different from all the other burger joints popping up at the moment . The rosemary salt and crispiness of the chips was very special indeed. I will definitely be visiting again, its great to see a burger joint that are creating a slightly quirky slant on their ingredients, and although they are a rapidly growing group of restaurants, still managing to keep their quality control, service and most importantly of all, great burgers!
