Hoppers brings a little bit of South Asia to London. The restaurant in Soho is always busy with long queues and there is a very good reason why... the Masala Dosas and Egg Hoppers are delicious and I would even go as far as saying, worth queuing for. I prefer the St Christopher’s Place restaurant as it is more spacious and the queues aren’t as bad as the restaurant in Soho.

I wasn’t really sure what to expect from Sri Lankan food, but enjoyed what I experienced at Hoppers. I recognised a lot of the flavours from neighbouring cuisines (including elements of Indian, Thai, and Ethiopian) but with a very distinct way of combining things. The “hoppers” of the name were bowl shaped crepes, made from rice (with a good crunch, I think I preferred the one without egg) and my main dish was a lamb curry with sliced up roti. Tasty stuff, and a nice airy atmosphere.
