Lunchtimes are heaving in St. Pauls, but the service here is pretty quick nonetheless. The menu, like most London eateries, is pricey in my opinion (around £5 - 8). The hummus bowls are decent if not a bit sickly a few mouthfuls, so I'd recommend a wrap which also comes with tortilla chips (the hot falafel wrap is delicious). Pick up some lentil chips or 'healthy' chocolate from their little snack shelf to amp up your meal.

I've been to Hummus Bros twice now and each time I've been really impressed at the outset of my meal, but by halfway, felt like the dish had lost its mojo. I had the beef hummus each time, and I think actually that's just not a good option. My friend orders the chicken with guacamole each time and absolutely demolishes the whole meal + pitta, so think I need to give it another shot and go back again sometime.

The concept overall is great though, and this branch in particular are very speedy compared to others I've been to. Add in copious seating and it's quite a decent place to just sit down and relax if you're looking to get out the office and the rain.

But food wise, the menu can be quite hit and miss, though the portions are pretty large so I imagine you won't go hungry even with a small portion!

I love hummus. My bf loves hummus. So what better place to meet for a mid week lunch than Hummus Bros (exactly 5 minutes away from both of ours offices)?

At 1.30 the St Paul's branch was quite quiet, several groups at tables but plenty of seating available. The queue was small with only one person at both tills in front of us.

The menu is simple; hummus bowls or hummus wraps. For £6 you get the biggest bowl of hummus with a topping of your choice and a huge fluffy pitta. Adding £2 to make it a meal deal means you also get a soft drink and a side. I had found a deal online enabling us to get allll of this for £5 each which was quite the steal!

Both my bf and I went for the hummus bowl; I got the aubergine and beef topping and he got the special which was lamb rogan josh. I opted for their homemade lemonade and the feta salad. My bf went for the same drink but the sweet potato falafel.

The hummus was brilliant, as were the toppings which are added warm on top. The pitta was warm, fluffy and filling and the the lemonade was delicious - but very very sweet. I'm afraid neither of us rated the falafel which are served cold however my Greek salad was fresh as well as also being massive.

All in all it was waaaay too much food and it actually fed me for dinner as well.

I will definitely go back paying full price however only with another person to share one meal deal as it is just so much food!

The falafel and avocado hummus bowl is pretty fantastic. Getting a large means you get an extra pita bread, not sure its worth the extra £1.40 or whatever but having the extra pita does help as it is quite a decent  amount of hummus in the bowl! Left feeling quite satisfied and full. Great lunch option.

I wish I could have such a good hummus before ! Hummus is healthy and so tasty that you can't help going to hummus Bros if you know it !
