Time Out says

Morelli’s retro ice-cream bar is a cross between an 1950s American diner and a quaint English tearoom, tucked next to the Prosecco bar in Harrods. You can choose to sit at a table, or on an old-fashioned chrome stool by the bar, from where it’s fascinating to watch the desserts being hand-assembled in front of you.

The sundaes aren’t cheap (£11.95-£19.95), but they’re satisfyingly grand, towering high with fresh fruit, nuts, sauces and whipped cream. The ice-cream is of a fair quality, the vanilla especially creamy; the cookie pieces in the ‘cookies ’n’ cream’ scoop were soft and chewy, with plenty of chocolate chunks. Flavours range from the classic (rum and raisin) to the more unusual (mango). On our visit, service was quite slow considering the number of staff, and the ice-cream, although presented stylishly, seemed no better than good-quality brands available in supermarkets.

There are no madcap creations here, just old-fashioned sundaes and jugs of hot fudge sauce. Given the high prices, we reckon there needs to be something more to make a visit worthwhile.
