Time Out says

If you’re after an extremely aesthetically-pleasing taste of Japan, or want to feel like an absolute giant, Japan House London’s Michelin Bib Gourmand status restaurant, Akira, is serving up a tiny and impeccably intricate afternoon tea - all in Wes Anderson-friendly colours. Chef Shimizu Akira has promised plenty of Japanese flavours rarely seen on the London food scene, including mochigashi (pounded rice cakes with sweet bean paste fillings), yokan (a firm jelly-like dessert) and senbei (sweet crispy rice cakes). It also comes with Akira’s carefully crafted sushi, specially selected green and smoked black teas from Ippudo and Kaneroku Matsumoto Tea Garden and you can add a glass of sparkling sake for an extra £7 to make it extra-special.

Afternoon tea at Akira, Japan House, is served Monday to Saturday between 2.30pm and 5pm at £28 per person, with a minimum of two people sharing.
