Kitchen 54 on Queens Road in Peckham serves up comfort food from the US in a relaxed cafe setting. The prices are reasonable for what look like generous portion sizes, which are served up in grease-proof paper, cutlery optional.
Chicken comes in strips or wings, is grilled or fried, and slapped between a bun and creamy jalapeño slaw. Hot bowls are served up with mash and gravy plus a choice of chicken, beef or black beans and avocado. The chicken dinner box comes with two classic sides, (choose from mac n cheese, maple bacon beans, corn cheddar fritters and skinny fries with 'K54 secret seasoning').
