I went when it was quiet to sample to food rather than the cocktails. As a BBQ restaurant, the food is pretty forgettable. I had the ribs and fries, both of which where at best average. Pretty disappointing.
If you are after cocktails, burgers, slow cooked meat, or craft beers, then Lazy Bones, near Farringdon station, is a place to go. The bar is located slightly off the main road, next to the Farringdon Sports Bar & Grill, and this means it isn't usually as busy as the other venues in the area.
Their happy hour runs from 5pm to 8pm and you can purchase one of ten cocktails for around £5 each during this time. I'd recommend the Long Island Ice Tea or the Espresso Martini!
The food is wonderful too and is always served promptly and piping hot.
I have no complaints about Lazy Bones, except for the mad rush to the bar at 7:55pm, when people will buy themselves three or four drinks each for the next few hours.

When I first started going to Lazy Bones, it was an off the beaten track, awesome happy hour, quite post work drink kind of place. Over the last year it has boomed into a bustling Friday night spot, due to its cheap drinks (1/2 price bottle of prosecco and cocktails before 8pm) and pretty tasty, comforting grub (pulled pork sandwiches, ribs etc). If you're looking for some easy weekday drinks around Farringdon, you can't go far wrong with Lazy Bones!
You would think that as this place is slightly off of the beaten track it wouldn't be painfully busy on a Friday night. No such luck. Someone obviously let the cat out of the bag about the generous happy hour (until 8pm) and delicious cocktails (I recommend the strawberry daiquiri) so expect a tight squeeze on a Friday evening.
The cosy confines are worth it for the drinks and good transport links. If you want a table, I would recommend booking in advance unless you want to stand in the toilet.
