London Oyster Championships

If you're besotted with bivalves, this one's for you. Bentley's Oyster Bar is once again hosting the London Oyster Championships, which brings together chefs, seafood experts, and foodie types for a day of enjoyable rivalry, refreshments and live music. First up is the speed shucking competition at 1pm: entries are first come, first served as competitors battle to shell oysters against the clock. Then, following a couple of hours of more oysters, refreshments and live entertainment, there's the best dressed competition at 3pm, where chefs (from the likes of Bouchon Racine, The Sea The Sea, Logma and The Suffolk) come up with novel oyster toppings in front of a panel of judges. This year that panel includes none other than Hollywood sweetheart Stanley Tucci.
