I discovered Nobu in Japan a few years back, in one of their small restaurants in Hakone near Mount Fuji, where I had some of the best food in my life. I wanted to give it another try in their London location so I decided to pay a visit to their Berkeley St location. Food was still great (not as amazing as the one in Japan I have to say but that was too high standards), their sashimi selection was delicious and the black pepper beef was to be remembered. I was more disappointed in the dessert, a white chocolate icecream with seaweed that didn’t taste much. Nobu is not for every taste, it is fancy and shiny and our neighbours were probably some kind of Russian heirs. It is also quite expensive for what it is (we got the weekend lunch menu which is way better) but still a great place to enjoy Japanese food in London.

If you like sushi you in for a treat! I went with 5 others and between us we ordered two different styled tasting menus, giving us the chance to taste as much sushi and sashimi as we could. For me there were a lot of firsts, caviar for one, along with the black cod (if you ever go this is a must! But the richness of it makes it definitely a sharer). All the flavours on offer were amazing, your tastebuds are never left feeling unsatisfied. The tasting menu also included pudding, sometimes the best part right!? Mine arrived in a wooden box, opening to find a warm chocolate pudding, complimented perfectly with a green tea ice cream.

The deign of the restaurant has a luxury gold and black feel to it, personally it is not for me but for the fine diners out there you may love it.

The girls had it all mapped out. We were heading to Nobu for dinner . A great memory I won't forget anytime soon.... Loved the decor but then again I'm a modern woman with great taste so.... The food itself was refined and delicious. Their sushi was soooooo good!! I wish I'd ordered some but I managed to pinch a few from my friend's plate. (Thankful for the small mercies huh)...... Their menu is plentiful in fresh fish and Asian flavours ... Well balanced flavours may I add! Man what a night! ..... Its in Mayfair so no shireditch prices here but all worth it in my opinion. PS .. Don't leave without having the salmon tataki!!!

Such a stunning restaurant, the food you cannot beat and in such a lovely part of London. It's not somewhere you would eat everyday but when you do its a lovely treat!

Nobu has beautiful restaurant and great service. The food is amazing, and a little overpriced, but if you get a set menu for lunch or dinner, it works out well. I ordered beef and sushi and really loved it. Would definitely come back on special occasions.

Having been several times, there are some consistencies and some inconsistencies. Food is always great, staff always pleasant. Waiting times for food and service seem to vary, even when not that busy. There are better places for atmosphere and overall experience. However it has to be said for first timers it still has that factor to impress.

I do not agree at all with the ones who commented before, I've been to Nobu several times and I've always recieved excellent service and food. Sure the portions could be larger, but it's far from the smallest portions I've seen in the same price range.

I think the waiting time between courses is terrible...The food is nowhere as good as a small traditional Japanese restaurant like ikeda or sakura. Give this overpriced place a miss...It was a bad experience, I only went because as a patron of good Japanese food I like to give as many Japanese restaurants a try....bad mistake!

The worst Japanese food I have eaten in London, last week were at zumas which was fantastic well worth the visit, (we have booked to go next week), but Nobu berkley street is appalling ,not only did we have to wait over an hour for our food but when it came it was a portion for an anorexic ( and I'm a size 8) ,having ordered a Chilean sea bass ( which was stunning at zumas and a large portion) I was appalled to find a dish arriving with 4 s all pieces of sea bass ( blink and you would miss them) then we had over 40 min wait for our chicken ,only to behold that it takes 30 mins to. Ok, we ordered it 60 minutes ago !!!!! And it. Should say on the menu if something takes half an hour to cook. Over all one of the worse experiences of eating out in London. Don't go, do your self a favour and go to zumas ,but. Book in advance as its very busy, due to the quality of the food unlike nubos .
