Time Out says

This is the original branch of the successful chain. It is largely a takeaway and catering operation, though there is a table at the back seating 10 people. The main branch is in Islington.

I used to work in a shop on Portobello road and was always asked by clients where Ottolenghi was but strangely never actually got the occasion to test it myself. It took my friend from Berlin being in London for one day only telling me that this was the only thing she wanted to do on that day to finally go. What she specifically requested we did was going for cake there, and what a great cake it was! Or, to be more accurate, what great cakes. Because we had no less than four for the pair of us. My favourite was the carrot and walnut cake with the thickest layer of cream I've ever seen. I expected each slice to be £10 as I had heard it was a very expensive place but it was actually only £3 so much cheaper than in most gastropubs. However, my friend told me that if you go for dinner, it is very pricey. Not sure about all their lunch options. All I know is that it all looks absolutely delicious.

Had a lovely time at Ottolenghi's deli/cafe in Notting Hill. Tempted by their irresistible displays, my friends and I decided to stop there for tea and obviously a small treat. Compared to its sister restaurant in Islington, this branch is tiny but very convivial and elegantly decorated with only one table seating 10 people at the back.  Their selection of freshly made dishes is amazing that you simple want to taste everything on their menu. We had a dark chocolate tart, a financier with cream and berries, and a cheese cake which were delicious and generously portioned. Luckily we didn't have to wait to be seated and the staff was absolutely dedicated.
