This place has it all.  Outdoor and indoor seating.  Tapas to share and mains.  Deserts and Cocktails.  Daytime and Underground bar/venue.  Amazing food and Reasonable prices.  Go with a group or on a date.

The vegetarian mushroom risotto tastes absolutely amazing.  You literally can't go wrong with this place and the service is friendly and present just when you need them.

A GREAT place on the corner of exmouth market. Recommend going before 8 for their happy hour cocktails downstairs in the bar, followed by dinner upstairs (pre-book).

Great pasta, burrata, aranchini, mussels and pork belly. Consistently great food every time at a decent price and good atmosphere.

Paesan is a clean and stylish Italian restaurant at the end of Exmouth Market. The interior is rustic Italian meets warehouse hipster, with untreated wood and metalwork creating a relaxing yet cool décor. The specials boards change monthly, themed around different regions of Italy.

The good value lunch menu (2 courses for £10, 3 for £13) tempted me in on a Monday, where I was the only customer and thus queen of my domain. I received excellent service throughout, and for once I didn’t blink at the service charge.

The food was the undeniable star – the butternut squash arancini oozed cheese and avoided that one deadly trait of the risotto ball: the cold centre. These were piping hot. The main course of panzanella (a salad of tomatoes, onions and balsamic-soaked bread) was refreshing yet filling, and deliciously tart. I was finally tempted into the panna cotta: a magnificent specimen of creamy mousse and sweet strawberries.

Considering that this was a set lunch menu, I was blown away by the food quality. Simple, traditional dishes were elevated to the sublime. Unsurprisingly, I’ll be returning for dinner – a table for two this time.

A fantastic all rounded place. Cocktails are fabulous! Food is Fabulous! Great decor. My new favorite haunt.

The banoffee cocktail is to die for! Its not a regular on the menu as they change the menu each month, but just ask and they will oblige. Have it instead of a desert.

Really nice restaurant! It was a pleasant surprise as we didn't plan our visit, and we were lucky enough to be there during happy hour and on a nice day enjoying the tables outside which give a wonderful view of exmouth market and lovely Farringdon area. Delicious italian dishes, nice wine, amazing risotto, definitely value for money. Staff was great as well. Do pay a visit asap :)

Bustling atmosphere and really busy. We had to wait in the basement bar where we were entertained by the bar manager cocktail making skills (quite impressive!). Once upstairs food was well cooked and quite authentic but portions are on the small side of things. New York style atmosphere and nice staff, it was a great night out despite the fact that we waited quite a while for our food to arrive.

Best Italian in Clerkenwell! Authentic, affordable and friendly staff that always make us feel welcome when we visit. On my last visit I tried the underground cocktail bar downstairs and it was great, 2 for 1 cocktails during happy hour and they were delicious!

Love this place - super tasty food at reasonable prices. And even better when you get the lunch deal - £9 for two courses! There is also a recently relaunched basement bar but it's not the strength of the place. Starters, mains and desserts are all wonderful - especially the sausage pasta and the chocolate cake!

Paesan is a really good, reliable Italian if you're craving it. Prices are mid-range and all the meals have been delicious every time I've been there. The interior decoration is quite rustic but cool. I always find Exmouth market is a little off the beaten track, but it's definitely worth it.

I took a risk and brought my Italian sister-in-law to an Italian restaurant in London. But am so glad I took her to Paesan as this place is amazing (and apparently rather authentic). Forget boring pizza  – this place does proper Italian food! The fresh breads are superb and stand out dish was the Pasta Vongole (clams).

We’ve been here for lunch and early dinner ; families are a common site at Paesan – the staff are great with the kids! Plenty of high chairs (we once had 4 toddlers eating at our table). Only negative is no baby changing facilties but hey, this is central London.

Had a perfect meal at Paesan over the weekend with my wife. The staff were courteous and had some great suggestions on what to order. A great find - Would certainly recommend!

I've just indulged myself yet again at Paesan. Another wonderful meal at this establishment and the meals that were delivered to the table definitely lived up to their descriptions on the menu. I relished every bit of my meal and the spotlight was definitely on the succulent roast duck. It was rich in flavour and was prepared beautifully – it stole the show. All of the meals were delicious and the dark chocolate dessert in particular was a delicacy. It didn't just look great but it was truly decadent. It was definitely the perfect dish to finish off our meal. I highly recommend this restaurant
