I came here on Valentines day for a very late Afternoon tea at 1730. They have various deals including one with bottomless champagne which if I could drink, would be a very good deal to have. We asked for a gluten free option and they confirmed this was possible. The setting is beautiful, the decor and the ambience is great and I loved the butterflies and the quintessentially British theme that lines the walls in the reception. The actual afternoon tea is great. From a gluten free point of view, the sandwiches were fresh which meant it wasnt dry or crumbly (normal characteristic of gluten free). My partner in crime had 'norma' and he snaffled them up very quickly. The waiters were obliging to give more and the open sandwiches were also an lovely added bonus :) The scones were amazing but like the Goring Hotel I get annoyed with heavily whipped double cream rather than clotted cream. Minor erk which means one less star. Also another reason this place loses a star is because we came so late there was a change over in staff. I dont mind this but we got forgotten about and you went from more staff to skeleton staff and the waiter admitted he didnt know where any of the gluten free stuff was kept in the kitchen and the chef had gone home! Despite this, it was a beautiful place and I think on a normal day this would make a great venue :)
