Fish and seafood plays a lead role at this family-run Italian on Charlotte Street. It's one of two Pescatoris in London - there's another over in Mayfair, too.
The menu certainly reads like an authentic slice of coastal Italian cuisine. Dishes range from fritto misto and bruschetta di granchio to yellow fin tuna carpaccio with tempura oyster, oven-baked sea bream with rosemary, Amalfi lemon and garlic, and tagliatelle con bolognese di mare - a pasta dish made with a ragu of smoked haddock and cod with carrots, onions, white wine and thyme.
It's not all fish and seafood though. Dishes with a foot on terra firma include wild mushroom risotto with parmesan, a roast rack of Cumbrian lamb with a pistachio crust, and filetto di maiale - Tamworth pork fillet wrapped in a pancetta and sage, served with pumpkin purée, cannellini beans, wine and a balsamic jus.
Keep an eye out for set menus and private dining options, too.

When it comes to set menus, Pescatori’s £35 offering is certainly up there with the best. The unlimited prosecco doesn’t hurt either! I had a delicious moule mariniere to start and a beautifully tender swordfish with green beans for mains. My lemon tart was tasty but I had food envy over my friend’s chocolate torte. Being late November, the restaurant had a cosy festive atmosphere and the staff were particularly attentive to keeping our prosecco glasses well topped up. Best to go with a small group of seafood-loving friends.
