A Vietnamese restaurant on Holloway Road

This new Vietnamese restaurant takes over the site previously host to Busan - the popular Islington Korean that went, came back, and then went again. The room has been given a bit of a makeover, with Busan's minimalism replaced by a more industrial feel - think exposed ducts, bare brickwork and swooping filaments.

Bar the beef jerky in the green papaya salad, there are few surprises on the menu. Expect, then, summer rolls, Vietnamese chicken curry, shaking beef and bun cha - the popular traditional dish of grilled pork served over rice vermicelli noodles. Pho, unsurprisingly, is a speciality.

Hue, Saigon and Hanoi beers complement soft options such as Fentimans 'Seville Orange Jigger', some homemade lemonade and suitably sweet Vietnamese coffee.

Tastemaker

Decent Vietnamese restaurant in Highbury right by the station. Had the pho here only and was left pretty happy with my bowl. Big portions, decent soup and the rice noodles are cooked perfectly. Not sure I would say it's the best pho in the area....OA Comtam up the road is superior I think, and also cheaper!

Expect to pay around £9/10 for a bowl here that will certainly leave you satisfied.

Overall, good, but not mind blowing. Try OA Comtam for something a bit more special I'd say!

Nice restaurant away from the busy London center, just outside Highbury & Inslington tube station.

Cosy environment, nice graffiti over the walls, friendly stuff, excellent food (of course pho!) & reasonable prices.

Worth a visit for a relaxed dinner or lunch!
