A really nice branch of the exponentially growing chain. Good pizza, great doughballs and pleasant service. Top tip: when you receive your pizza, ask for some garlic butter. Dip the crusts in and hey ho, make shift doughsticks. Worth a visit if you’re looking for a cheap, quick, crowd pleasing bite to eat – just make sure you check their website before to get a voucher.

This branch of Pizza Express has a neat décor and looks pretty smart. I love seeing the kitchen and the guys at work. The food is pretty much the same as any other Pizza Express. I tried the Calabrese which was one of their designer rectangular pizzas with a thin base. It was spicy and had a great flavour but I found it frustrating that is got a little soggy at the end. My starter, also on paper, sounded amazing – a mushroom bruschetta. However the bechamel sauce was a bit too much like single cream, and with the sweet red onion, tasted much like a cream cake with mushrooms on it. My other half loved his chicken pizza and tiramisu. It’s a lovely place, but I just wish their thin base pizzas didn’t get so sloppy.
