In my opinion, for an average chain restaurant, their prices are not cheap. The first time I came, I had the Margherita Buffala under the 'Romana' section. This type of pizza was slightly larger in diameter but with a very thin and crisp base. It was too thin for my liking and the pizza came out cold. Granted, I was in a big group (about 10 of us) but all the pizzas came out at the same time and mine was room temperature. We also had to wait quite some time for it, which is why I didn't send it back because I imagine it would have taken just as long to get me a new pizza. Our starters came out pretty quickly though.

Tonight, I had the opportunity to visit Pizza Express again for another large group dinner. We arrived around 7:30pm on a weekday night and it was nice that they had enough space to seat around 15 of us. However, there were insufficient waiters on our floor, with only 2 service staff attempting to serve a room of at least 20-30 tables! Once again, our starters came out quite fast but we did have to wait longer for the pizzas to arrive. I had the Buffalo Mozzarella & Tomato Salad for my starter, which I really liked! The buffalo mozzarella was really nice and creamy, and the perfect portion size. The cherry tomatoes that were served with it tasted fresh and sweet, complementing the creaminess well. It was also drizzled with pesto, which was also really good! Overall it was a light and refreshing starter, and was a decent size.

I found it strange that 4 pizzas came out first, with a pretty long interval until the rest of our group's pizzas were served. This time, I had the Padana pizza under the 'Classic' section. As it comes with no cheese, I added buffalo mozzarella as an extra topping. This flavour of pizza was much nicer than the Margherita Pizza I had the first time I visited. It had a great combination of ingredients and the crust was of a better thickness for my liking. It resembled a sourdough base pizza more than the pizzas under the 'Romana' section do. A much better experience than my first time but probably still a little steep in price for me to come back again on my own accord. There are much better pizza joints available in London!

Lovely food but horrible service! They had staff members just standing around while my little group of 3 and I were left waiting for drinks for nearly 25 minutes! Not of the highest standard i had come to expect from this restaurant...
