Came here after a run at Finsbury Park and it was suggested by a local. For a Wednesday it was quite busy so we were lucky to snatch a table. After tasting their pizza I can see why! Absolutely delicious. Wonderfully thin crust and fresh, flavoursome toppings. I got the Pizza Pappagone, with artichokes and deliciously salty bacon. Best thing was that it was quick to arrive, which is important when you just did a run and starving! AT £10.50 I even had a slice or two left over for lunch the next day, so a cracking value!

I am almost reluctant to review this place; I selfishly want to keep it a local secret, as Pizzeria Pappagone is offering up some of the tastiest and most authentic pizza in London.

With a vast array of pizzas to choose from, Pappgone has a great atmosphere which makes you feel you are sitting down to eat with that large Italian family you don't have. The pizza is delicious- a light base with those blackened bits which just taste so damn good. The tomato sauce is rich and sweet and the toppings are all fresh and delightful. The Valetina with salty Bresola, peppery rocket and Parmesan is a firm favourite.

To start, the deep fried mozzarella balls may be a heart attack on a plate, but are super gooey, crispy and so indulgent. The gelato is also just as good as any I have had in Italy- creamy and smooth with some great flavours, such as pistachio and hazelnut- epic combination.

The staff are friendly and the service is relaxed. I would advise booking as this place can get pretty busy, and with the super reasonable prices, it is a local hotspot.

An authentic Italian trattoria, just a 10 minute walk from Finsbury Park Station. Pizzeria Pappagione is one of the best Italian restaurants in London, serving tasty, authentic Italian food. The menu offers a wide selection of starters, pizza, pasta and meat dishes.

Their pizza comes straight out of a wooden oven. The calzone is the most delicious calzone I 've ever had, including the ones in Italy.

The decoration is basic and old fashioned as if all the creativity went straight to the food. The restaurant gets very busy and loud but is big enough to avoid long queues.

Pizzeria Pappagone is one of the best places in London for authentic, unpretentious Italian food. Delicious pizza from their wood burning oven, a great selection mouth watering pasta and several yummy desserts (I loved the banoffee). Their gelato is also very famous. The atmosphere and decor are simple, friendly and relaxing. The place is quite big so expect also some big and loud groups. It is also ideal for families. The staff is very friendly and efficient. Last but not least, such a great value for money! I really can't recommend this place enough!

Easily the best pizza I've had in London. The staff are great as well and there's a wonderful family feel to the place. You feel like you'd be spilling onto the streets of Naples rather than North London when you leave.

Pappagones does do amazing pizza & pasta, no question about it & there is definitely an authentic Italian atmosphere. However... the wine is eye wateringly expensive for very pretty average bottles, and the service, on occasion, can be a little poor due to the fact its always heaving and they have a pretty quick turn around. If you're looking for a tasty midweek pizza, this is definitely the place to go - because it really is oh so good, though for a leisurely weekend meal with a nice bottle of wine, I might look elsewhere.

This place takes the 'bums on seats' approach - it's a quick turnaround rather than a place to sit and spend an evening. However, even though the place is always full the food is great and the service is very efficient. Last week we had a table of twelve seated, fed and out the door in about an hour and a half, including starters and several rounds of drinks. The place was rammed as usual but the staff didn't break a sweat.

The pizza is made before your eyes in the authentic 'swing it around your head' style, and the home made Italian ice cream is worth a try too. The pizza can be ordered for takeaway too.

Pappagone's is a solid solution to the 'food' part of your evening, and you will have plenty of evening left to do other things. If you can move.
