We were looking for a restaurant to end a lovely afternoon in Kew for my mum's birthday and stumbled across Q Verde on an online review.

Apparently popular with the locals, this family run restaurant definitely had a homely feel to it. Although the decor is quite modern (and overly lit for my candle-light loving taste), the owner proudly keeps a fatherly eye on everyone, making sure that the service is on top form and his guests are very well looked after so it has a rather chariming old-fashioned feel to it, so hard to find these days.

As requested on my open-table booking, he'd reserved us a 'good table', in a nice comfortable corner and greeted me by my name, which was lovely. The food itself was delicious, simple and generous in size and the prices were fair for it's fancy location.

I really did want to sample the Tiramisu, but sadly was just too full to do so. But the vegetarian stuffed artichoke starter was an absolute delight - worth missing dessert for.

Overall a lovely little restaurant with a wonderful, independent, non-pretentious feel to it. Although the wrong side of London for me to go again in the near future, I'll definitely pay it a visit when I am next in Kew, and I will be sampling the Tiramisu when I do!
