Rum and Sugar

Restaurants Canary Wharf

Rum and Sugar has replaced 1802 as the ‘bar, lounge, restaurant’ for the Museum of London Docklands. The space is the same, part of Grade I-listed warehouses built in, yes, 1802. Food is fairly basic bar stuff, and brief: three or four each of sharing platters, salads, burgers, meat and fish dishes. The prices are somewhat high for this type of place.

The drinks list gives grudging acceptance of the existence of other spirits, but it is rather magnificently dominated by rum - cocktails, including monthly specials, and especially a full page of rum (double shots) from nearly every country where the stuff is distilled.

Rum&Sugar is a vast bar/kitchen located in Canary Wharf (West India Quay side) catering for all your rum needs! The space would seem perfect for celebrations or large gatherings and their cocktail list is immense. So far my favourite has been Bounty's Note, a cocktail full of nutty flavour using coconut cream, chocolate liquor, rum (of course!) and coconut water. It felt like I had been taken to the Caribbean! I recommend this bar for amazing rum cocktails however there skills don't end there, with great bar food and beer available too.
